Ive sent two back already, nothing but trouble from mine....works great then gets super wonky. Never wet or dropped. Ive had much better luck with the UE Wonderboom. It makes no difference to me if the flip4 sounds a little better because its such a hassle.

Honestly, one of best investment. Even if you buy it used but in working condition. I did have to change the battery and it's been solid for 4 years now.

4.0 firmware update caused erratic battery reading. I charge it full. It takes like 2 hours (charger is 5v 1.5 amp). Then I listen to songs and in around an hour, the battery indicator goes to one point (red) and it turns off. If I power up, it the battery shows 3 points again in an hour it goes to one point (red) and goes off. The cycle repeats and remember I'm not charging just restarting flip 4. I want to downgrade to 3.8 or 3.9. How can I do that?

4:45 I bought the Flip 3 a few months ago, and also noticed the slight distortion in the highs. I even thought of returning the Flip 3 and buying a Flip 4 instead, but after testing a sample device in a tech store for about half an hour, I decided there was not that much of a difference. I also can confirm the fast battery drain when listening on max vol. I still think the flip series is good, but also a bit overpriced since there are cheaper and much better alternatives, like the Anker Soundcore Boost or the VAVA Voom (both also waterproof and cost only 3/4 of the Flip 4)!!

I have one of these paired with a Samsung Galaxy S7. I only use it a couple of times a week. Why do I have to reconnect the bluetooth every time again when I want to play music?

Both of you are wrong. The jbl xtreme 2 will be out soon with 50 watts and completely waterproof but now there is only one usb for charging your phone.

Jay Sportzz flip 4 if you haven't already made your decision, it's only like 15 bucks more and it's a huge improvement being waterproof and sound is slightly better

You left out that it is almost useless using two of these in stereo mode. You need to use their app (which insists on spying on your location) every time and it takes at least a minute to recognise the speakers. Then one of the speakers (the second one you power up) will have short dropouts every minute or more unless the speakers are less than 5 feet from each other. Read the app reviews. It is woeful.

Coz of almost the same price of sony xb30 and flip4, I bought sony. I heard them at the showroom and made my decision. For me sony was much louder and had extra bass. Jbl was also good but the sound was bit tiny and also they have no service centre where I live so went for sony. Thankyou for your reply. :)

Dhruv Padiath get the charge, if you live in the UK you can buy a refurbished one ( its the speaker but it had something wrong with it and has been sent back, then repaired and tested by jbl ) off the jbl website website, for £99 then use a 10% voucher and then it's only like £10 more than the flip, and obviously the charge is alot better!!
