@@talizorah2282 I got them too, after trying kraken and blackshark V2 X. Sound quality is amazing, for games and music as well. It creates an ambient sound stage, very detailed and clean. Bass is perfect, not overwhelming like Krakens. Kraken has cooling earpads, which is missing on V2 but still very comfy. V2 X has a synthetic earpads material and my ears got hot. The sound is less detailed compared to V2 but has a better mic. I returned both Kraken and V2 X, V2 definetely does worth the extra 40$.

One important note here, if you use the mic through the USB sound card, it actually hurts the performance of the mic. A way to circumvent this is to use a audio and mic splitter cable and run the mic to your Motherboard or two another DAC such as a gsx1000 or mayflower arc. Extra, yes, but the sound quality is good with the THX making it relatively worth it.

After testing Kraken and blackshark V2 X, just got blackshark V2 and keeping the V2 for sure. Great sound stage and very comfortable. I think it's a steal for this price! Kraken is too bulky and sound is kinda muffled, too bassy compared to blacksharks. And V2 X earpad material feels cheap, got my ears hot. It's not comfortable for extended listening. Investing 40$ more on V2 definetely makes a difference!

@@jiris5709 I actually prefer the 7.1 surround sound over the spatial audio. As well, I'm contacting Razer because there is a quiet humming coming from my right heaphone cup... The same thing that happened to my 2016 model. If I had to repurchase, I'd go with another Kraken model over this one.

I wirelessly use these on my PS5. I sit 2m away from the console and I can only get a solid connection if the USB stick is plugged into the front of my PS5. It worked well in the back for a few days, but now it's only working well when plugged into the front. Are my headphones faulty? I've only had them for about 2 months.

I have the V2 and have no issues with the mic along with the sound card. It’s average and my teammates has no issues how it sounded either. The THQ Spatial Audio sounded really good in competitive FPS games which enhances the experience much better than the default sound card mode. In single player games and other multimedia entertainment, switching to sound card creates a better listening experience. People complain about synapse but have no idea why they’re complaining about it. Just don’t use their additional chroma bs add-on and your good. The software works and doesnt hog cpu usage. I’m not a Razer fanboy but they have been stepping up their game by listening to the community which is good for all of us for better products. You’re getting a nice headset and mic for $99. I recommend the V2. Get it at Best Buy with their cheap ass 2 yr accidental plan and your set.

Hey man, really loved your review on this! I've been looking forward to upgrade my headset, Iam currently using the Corsair Hs60 pro. Now Iam in a serious confusion between the Razer blackshark V2 and the Corsair hs65 wired. My top most priority is sound/audio quality as I'll be mainly using it for media consumption tbh and yes also ocassional competitive gaming. I really like this headset but one thing I'm worried about is the passive noise cancelling. I live in a household with multiple people and I get frequently called throughout the day and I have to be the one who hears doorbells and etc. Do you think these would block out these sounds too much? I used to have (and still have but not using it) the Corsair Void Wired, and I really loved it's pnc (or lack of it) since it's perfect for the surroundings I am in. I recently decided to get the Sony WH1000XM4 and whilst they are stellar sounding, the pnc is way too much on these, and so I plan to buy another headphone/headset that would be one where I'd switch around depending on the situation. Maybe this can give you context of what I would prefer with headphones/headsets regarding pnc.

I just received a brand new Razor Blackshark V2, and the volume on the PS4 is pathetically low! I have tried it with both the 3.5mm and the USB inputs. The headphone volume on the PS4 is at max volume and the volume knob on the ear is turned all the way up. Even with everything at max level, it's still not high enough. I'm not hard of hearing, and I don't listen to everything at super high levels. Hell, even my five year old no-name stereo headphones sound louder than these do on my PS4. Is this a bad set of headphones? Is this a bug? Is this the PS4 problem with low volume on some headphones. Did you have this problem, Sound guys?

I'm not completely positive but the mic test he did was most likely with the THX USB Sound card that is included. Whats weird is when you use that it makes the quality just garbage. If you just plug the headset in directly into your computer it sounds %100 better. Go watch "Hardware Canucks" review on it and he does a mic test with and without the USB sound card.

Agree i have 2 razer electra and kraken 7.1 chroma usb and they both skin peeled off with in a year and half mostly headband and ear cups but i still have them now and still works great for 10 years for electra and almost 6 years for kraken

I dont know what pros you're watching, but I've seen people actively denounce anything astro. I used to own gen 3 and gen 4 a40s, and sound quality was definitely lacking even compared to arctis 7s and so far from what I can tell, the Blackshark V2s.
