Thanks for another great video! I bought my 4500 system in ´16, did a complete recap, added a powerlink switched relay for bluetooth and enjoy it every day to bits. But one thing I so much love about them is the fact that it´s wall mounted. Ease of use(eyelevel), space saving and last but nowhere least: it looks absolutely beautiful! You are absolutely right that in NO WAY you can trust the factory double sided tape which has turned to goo, but they can be retaped or glued quite easily at little cost and will last longer than the original.

Steve what a fantastic video. You left me dewy eyed, like you, the 3500 set was my first lifetime step into the B&O brand, it is still running beautifully today in my home office. Then to add icing to an already fine cake you show pictures of the 6500 white, a 7000 black and a 9500 / 9300 - my whole Bang and Olufsen hi-fi suite in one post !!. You also reminded me just how much I covet their 1990s product range and why I still hanker for a launch of a new hifi range for current times, even though, as you rightly say, this era still remains compatible with today’s music products. I fully intend to continue enjoying these systems for many years to come. Looking forward to your next inspirational post - keep ‘em coming. Best Regards Steve Alexander.

Hi Steve. It’s so good to see this era of B&O get the praise it deserves. Your 3500 system looks great and I hope it continues to give you many more years of enjoyment. I have a BC9300 and 9500, and love both of them. As you said, there’s such flexibility with these machines being able to drive active as well as passive speakers. The 9300 is a scaled back version of the 9500 in certain ways but still a great unit. Also, what a real surprise to see my old BC7002 featured in the video; that has made my day! I’m sat playing some vinyl on it now as I’m typing this. Thanks.

Hi Steve, I have recently fallen down the vintage B&O rabbit hole after acquiring a Beovision 7-32 MK1 and Beolab 7-1 for free! A few purchases and DIY cables later and I recently found one of the old F-1000 stands which is now begging for something like a 3500/4500/9500 and of course a beogram! And funds permitting, a pair of Beolab 9s. I really love the fact that B&O kit has such a long serviceability that it can still be enjoyed.

I actually just bought a Beomaster 3500, a Beogram CD 3500, and paired them with some Beovox CX100's. I really like your point about the future proofing, and i do also plan to keep this piece of art as long as it works. as for my needs, I'll only need to get a bluetooth reciever/chromecast audio for music streaming to the system. As I'm still a teenager, i don't need the multi room capabilities yet, but I'm definitely gonna use it later on when needing it. Thanks for making this video, i really enjoyed it!

That was indeed very enjoyable. I love my Beocenter 9500 paired with redline 60.2. A friend who is not technical and doesnt know the brand guessed it was from 2005 🤪, i sait it is from the '90's. And the sliding doors and the touch control of the glass plate is just timeless futuristic. Btw in a catalogue of B&o from i think 1987 you see the house of the inventer of Sony, and he has a beosystem 5500 with penta's and also the Beocenter 9000 with Rl60's. Well B&O is also Zen for a clean sober Japanese house 🙂

Thanks, the 9500 is certainly a superb and timeless system! Yes, I had heard about the head of Sony being a B&O fan back in the day, I think a lot of tech leaders use B&O as there is nothing to match the experience.

How different is the Beo Master 3300 as opposed to the 3500? Is the 3300 also a similar alternanative to the 3500? They look very similar at list in the outside.
@soundsheavenly2 жыл бұрын
Beomaster 3300 looks similar but the connectivity is quite different - it doesn't have Powerlink outputs for newer speakers and it has a phono pre-amp so it is intended for earlier Beogram turntables. However, it is still a stylish and interesting retro amp, just not the perfect match for future speakers like the 3500 or 4500.
@geneyoon61283 жыл бұрын
Very proud of my 4500 system for this very reason. I started with the Beomaster 2400 with passive RL60 speakers. I didn’t like the 2400’s very limited ultrasonic remote, among other drawbacks, and stepped up to the Beomaster 4500, keeping the speakers. I love that I’ve been able to add incrementally as I could afford: Beolab 4500 active speakers, Beogram 4500 record deck, and Airport Extreme. The latter I recently replaced with Sonos Port for superior 2-way wireless - thanks to your advice, Steve. My 4500 truly does seem future proof and will stay in our home as long as I breathe, most likely.

@@soundsheavenly I have a BeoSystem 4500. Beautiful iconic end of line system. But the glass on my Beomaster 4500 has broke off after hanging on the wall as you mentioned 😞. It really looks great when mounted on the wall paired with BeoLab 4500 🙂 3500 might just be a painted version of 4500. Is there any digital connectivity? Did B&O ever make something with digital connectivity? Any direct drive turntables? Also, why not just remove those glass panels and redo the tape or a proper glue job? Just curious.
@soundsheavenly9 ай бұрын
This system is 35 years old so no, it doesn't have digital connectivity! However, many of B&O's newer systems have wireless digital streaming and digital networking capabilities. Yes, you can re-fix the glass panels with the correct 3M double sided tape but I prefer not to take the risk of wall-mounting such a beautiful system
