Michael A. Singer has been a spiritual teacher for more than four decades and has written two books: the #1 New York Times bestseller The Untethered Soul and the New York Times bestseller The Surrender Experiment. He is also the creator of a leading-edge software package that transformed the medical practice management industry, and founding CEO of a billion-dollar public company whose achievements are archived in the Smithsonian Institution. While working on his doctorate in economics in 1971, Michael experienced a deep inner awakening and went into seclusion, focusing on yoga and meditation. In 1975, he founded the yoga and meditation center known as Temple of the Universe, where people have come together to practice and study ever since. In addition to his work as a spiritual teacher, Michael has made major contributions in the areas of business, education, health care, and environmental protection.
Sounds True was founded in 1985 by Tami Simon with a clear mission: to disseminate spiritual wisdom. Since starting out as a project with one woman and her tape recorder, we have grown into a multimedia publishing company with more than 80 employees, a library of more than 1500 titles featuring some of the leading teachers and visionaries of our time, and an ever-expanding family of customers from across the world. In more than three decades of growth, change, and evolution, Sounds True has maintained its focus on its overriding purpose, as summed up in our Mission Statement.

I listened to both The Untethered Soul & Surrender Experiment many times, then I was assaulted and had a very bad brain & spinal injury. Then, I listened to them more. That saved me from having a horrible experience & changed it to having an interesting experience. THANKS!!!

Knowledge is power for the ego - you have to be able to discern the difference. The more knowledge the more the ego thinks it has the world and others beat - with the power of being more knowledgeable ...than others But it has nothing to do with your Soul connecting with your True Self As your Soul already knows what your ego could never understand

I've listened to the audio book of The Untethered Soul twice now - it's life-changing stuff. The most prominent part, for me, was learning to surrender to your fear, experience and notice it. Now when I have a painful feeling, I just let it pass through me rather than trying to distract myself from it or consciously trying not to think about it. It's crazy how easy it is to do this - almost like it's a function of the human spirit that's been lying there all this time but dormant. Knowledge is indeed power!

Marcus, can you pl talk about how you let pain pass through you? Ty kindly
@MarcusBiggins1993
@MarcusBiggins1993 3 жыл бұрын
@@rhondapelletier2141 Hi Rhonda, this is the best way; - Next time a fearful/painful emotion comes up, let it do so without resisting, escaping or suppressing it. - Go to a quiet place to be alone. - Close your eyes and let the painful/fearful thought come up. - Affirmations work, like; "I want to think about this" or "I want to surrender to this pain". Your mind will be surprised by this. - It will feel like you're on a rollercoaster and you will truly feel the fear/pain for a short moment. You should know that it cannot harm you in the slightest. - 10 minutes afterwards, or even instantly, you will feel lighter and happier. A few more tips: - Treat this mechanism like a short type of meditation but practice every time you have this feelings come up. - If this feeling is strong, it will come up again, so you will need to repeat the process - the more you do this the less painful it will become until it's totally fizzled away. Basically, let yourself feel this pain and process it correctly and consistently face it head on. I hope this helps =)

One POWERFUL way to handle those inner talks and noise, I use and teach people is to SAY TO YOURSELF: I AM SAFE. Our mind is like an overprotective mother, and when it feels "Danger" is coming, we can break that pattern by feeling and be aware that the threat is not real, is just our mind. Say to yourself: I AM SAFE. Best wishes, don't give up! March 8, 2021

One day was babysitting my 3rs niece for the first time as her parent were going out for a special anniversary weekend. As her parents left and said goodbye she looked around the room wondering what to do. She stood up stretched out for arms and spun around 3 times saying "I'm so happy". She gave me the greatest gift ever that you create your own happiness in any moment you make the choice.

A honest and profound sharing. I founded a long term care facility that served and cared for the old, sick and dying Dementia, blind and Deaf seniors. I lived where I worked for 10 years, caring for mentally and physically disabled seniors with 22 dying in my home under hospice services. It was the hardest job I have ever loved. With over 87,600 hours of experiences has taught me grace and love and compassion on such a deeply moving part of me.

This book changed my life as well. On the evening that I was reading a chapter about deciding about happiness no matter what, I decided to be happy no matter what. And the next day I lend a car to a friend who called me about 10min later and reported that he had an accident with my car. It was when I put the phone down that I realised what happened. It was a test that Michael was describing in a book when someone decides to be happy no matter what and I started laughing. :)

This is so true - I once unknowingly used this method to stop a panic attack in a plane. The captain saying, “Doors closed !” sparked it off. Nobody taught me...it just came to me. I began to say, “I am relaxed ! I am ok “ and I literally stopped it. I must have said it a hundred times, like a mantra. I managed to do it and my mind quit with it because I guess it thought, “Oh well. I can’t bother her like that anymore !” 😊😊😊 So, it works !

Michael Singer's work has been so helpful to me ... I just finished reading "The Surrender Experiment" (The Untethered Soul has been like my Bible for many years now) ... the only thing I wish that had been different in "The Surrender Experiment" was some recounting about how much his mind resisted what life was putting in front of him ... I feel like he just kind of passes over that, minimizes it a bit ... for me, that resistance is the hardest part of surrendering ...all the ways my mind convinces me I'm going to die if I surrender ... I've been at this long enough to know that the mind will say ANYTHING to avoid its own death, but it helps when I read that the same thing happens to those who are farther along the path. Either way ... so grateful.

I've understood that..being a listening ear to your mind helps it calm down. Mind is like a scared kid when it comes to surrendering, it just runs feeling scared, but if you take some time and listen it's story over and over again, it will feel heard and calm down eventually. Just learn to the words, no matter what they are, there's no real need to answer them, listening is enough. Good luck.

Timestamps for self and anyone interested. 6:51 when you have a peak experience, feeling great you realize that is a natural feeling inside of you. Then you just have to figure out that what's getting in the way of that happening all the time is your mind with all of its negative talk, fear of the future and worries over the past, for example. The mind can be relentless if you let it. (Relax and release technique as discussed later and in many of his interviews and talks)

I’ve just finished Michael’s book The Surrender experiment and absolutely loved it. It has already changed my life. Immediately went and bought his other book as well as the autobiography of a yogi. Not terribly interested in Tony robbins, I feel he is always trying to sell you something.

I really relate to what you saw in India and the USA. ....saw the same in the Buddhist countries in the east ...those who practice are often not wealthy but there is so much joy and peace and kindness...coming back to the U.K ...much wealthier but so much unhappiness and complaining and stress by comparison ....massive differences ...people look for happiness in the wrong places ....

This is an eye opener. Giving yourself a chance to open up to other possibilities in life. I think this is only good for young individuals who has still plenty of time to recover failures and disappointments in life. But if you are already in your 50's you already exactly know what you want. It is perfectly clear what you want and what you don't want in life. So, you need to find soneone who will match your exact needs. If you want emotional stability more than financial stability, go for it. Never ever compromise yourself with other persons personal preference. We grow up differently. We have different values and priorities in life. We need to respect that cause we need to be contented with our decisions. This is a simple joy in getting old.

It happened for me immediately, just realising that I didn't have to engage with the mind's chatter. It changed everything instantaneously.

The course is the best investment we can make for ourselves. This is like a handbook on how to live life and if that is all we follow, we won’t need to go anywhere for any other answers. This outlines the entire journey from step one to eternity. So grateful!!!

Today is the first day ive heard of Tony. I am beyond grateful. Been searching for these answers, in the dark, and after a year of studying the way my brain reacts to the world I really feel like i got close to understanding! To hear these things worded so well in an order that i understand is a miracle. Loving it!

I loved this video. A perfect balance of Yin and Yang energies....At times Tony, Michael, and Sage showed power (Yang) and at times showed gentleness (Yin). The reason I highlight this is that the key to peace for me is balance and the balance between Yin and Yang in this video came out clearly.

We all have a spiritual muscle. Some know how to use it and some don't. We all are incredible 🌟 its how we deal with hard times is what matters. Michael is just saying what has already been said by other people really who are open to the message he giving. Esther Hicks also gives a broader perspective too which I absolutely incredible. I will research Micheal to find out more him. I have always known how powerful the mind is from my own experience of how it can work to rewire the body back to it's natural state of good health. Grateful that he came to speak with Tony but I have a feeling as he kept mentioning at points he felt he was more important than Tony and Sage and yet we are all here to learn from each other and appreciate each other.

I want to express my greatest GRACIAS to the extraordinary three of you. I had not had the pleasuer of knowing the life of Mr. Singer but I am so interested in learning more from his example. Something I want to mention is that sometimes I am frustrated when my marriage, which I cultivate and love, is not going so well, and it is so difficult to find effective role models. By seeing that, Tony, a guru of gurus, has to remind his beloved wife about introducing the author and name of the book, gives me a peace of mind. That image of Tony reminding his wife, and the fact that she is aknowledging and agreeing with her husband respecfully but more than anything happily smiling just proves of the eeeeeeeeeeenormous cultivation they both have invested in their beautiful marriage. Pleople often say, ''it's greener on the other side of the fence'' I don't quite agree with it. Those of us who are married, that is our own garden the one we must cultivate every minute, excuse me, every milisecond. Muchas GRACIAS!
