Well my camera stopped recording early in the session when my SD card filled up. I hope that's not a sign. 😬

@@drolofx haha thanks! It’s bespoke. My friend Chris made it. I got it for your video but then shot another one with it pretty much right away. 😊

Right, this is not a technical demo. But I would love to see one! There arent many videos on the 2 Track at all.

It's pretty great so far. I really like it after stereo reverb and stuff. It seems to bring out some nice detail and impart some warmth as well. I'll use it in another video in the future for sure.

@@basementlyle I just bought my first compressor pedal about 7 mos ago. Source Audio Atlas. I like it, but its not simple at all. It has 2 channels, I run one first in chain, and one after my overdrive section. But it is digital. I want to eventually get an analog comp to try out. The Atlas is a nice tool though. It has 2 eqs that you can use and a noise gate.
@basementlyle2 ай бұрын
@ nice hack splitting up the channels like that. I haven’t used a lot of compressor pedals myself. I have an OTO Boum at the end of chain for my stereo stuff but it’s also a saturation and eq etc. This Templo one is handy too because it’s little and has XLR outs so I’m considering having it end of chain as both a compressor and DI for live stuff.

This is beautiful, and fitting for the occasion for sure! I hope you're not getting tired of my random questions, and I realize this isn't a cello ... but can you let me know what cello VST you use? I've been looking for something lately and love the cello sounds you get. Also curious if you're using poly aftertouch or not to get some of the expression you're getting on cello. Sorry again, since I kinda hijacked the thread for a cello question :)
@basementlyle2 ай бұрын
Thanks again! Also I dig questions. This one was a plugin called Cycles from Slate and Ash. It has some incredible syncopated rhythmic things as well as these more string-like patches. Those swells and things were built right into the patch so I wasn't even using my mod wheel this time around for that purpose. The cellos I use most often are from Spitfire, or Spitfire Labs because they are just setup with that expressiveness out of the box. My keyboard doesn't have polyphonic aftertouch unfortunately but I would really enjoy having that.

Thanks so much! Do you remember which Spitfire Cello? They have a few I believe. Thanks again and have an amazing weekend. Just picked up the Too Positive by the way and it’s amazing on filtered guitar. Looking forward to trying it on piano.

@ the one I use most often is the free labs one called cello moods. They also have some priced at 29 or so. So great that you got the too positive it really has a bunch of range. I use mine right after Polyphrase to add some texture to the delay.

Why did you say that that day was scary? Was it because of the election?

@@matthewmathis62 oh yeah. Thanks for asking. I find elections very tense in the best of times but this was much higher stakes than usual.
