yeah I know. I played the Korean Ragnarok 2 in 2006 or so. had to use fake Korean ID number. It was awkward, grindy, and actually doesn't have anything to do with first Ragnarok, except for Poring and the game logo.

I dont think hating something but loving the music is really paradoxal. A lot of people dont like Gaia's MMO, Zomg!, but most of the soundtrack is done by composer Jeremy Soul. You could say something similar of the Tsubasa anime. As for the community, im not sure i understand. To me, community is the whole reason MMOs are as good as they are. Going on an adventure and making friends as you go- to me, that is the essence of a good MMO.

+orphanssong Man, the nostalgic feelings after hearing Morroc theme in RO2... The game is awesome after reaching Sograt and watching the mix of RO1 Biolabs and manhwa plot. They even made that guy Seyen Windsor from lhz in Jawaii. But only a good story doesn't make a good game. RO2 plot is well writed but poorly executed, quests are just generic kill x and collect y. And ToS was the same thing in CBT 2. They changed it to be more grindy in the last CBT but the combat still a bit slow compared to RO1... Anyway, if they fix the slow combat, I still don't think it will be another RO. It can be another good game, but I think no one can never replace RO.

this is an amazing piece of music. but it doesn't really have a place as an mmorpg battle theme, it's too lengthy and battles end way too quickly. it also lacks the necessary subtlety for mmorpg soundtracks. doesn't stop me from listening to it over and over again though, so damn good.

Well, you probably would have fun playing MMOs with PVP enabled out of towns. like Rift. I played it for a while and it's pretty fun. Great maps, there are invasions from time to time. There's also Firefall, which follow the same gameplay in a way, but it's a FPS/3rdPS Open World MMO. ;]

I hate to be that guy, but this theme is a total ripoff of spanish bass piper artist HEVIA and his famous song "Busindre Reel". It even copies the same song structure. I really love Yoko Kanno and her talent. This is why I really don't undertand what could have happened here. The song still rocks, but I think people should be aware of this and give Hevia some credit.

Yeah we know that, its been known since old ro2 beta. Both songs are amazing. Having song structure isn't really rip-off but yeah, its so similar in structure that even when the themes itselves aren't really the same in everything else it may raise an eyebrow.

I wouldn't insult you over your opinion! Also, I see where you come from. Well, life is a waste of time, hahah. You don't "beat" MMORPGs, that's why they take long. However, there are some that are fun to play simply for the sake of competing. Others are fun just to hang out with friends (when there's a good community). As for me, I like MMO games just because most are open world and I love exploring maps. ;]

I can't think of anything in this exact style, but it reminds me a little bit of some of Mike Oldfield's work (definitely check out Amarok for a few similarish moments, but a lot of his discography is worth digging through, especially the 70s stuff). For something a bit more similar in style, try the song Ballavanich by Wolfstone. I grew up with the album "The Rough Guide to Scottish Music", and while the whole thing is a solid listen, that track is probably its best example of this energetic-atmospheric kind of thing. Oh, also the song The Sensual World by Kate Bush is pretty cool.
