Adjust Auto-Notching Sensitivity on your Tsunami2 equipped locomotive with CV 114. Add a value from 1 to 15 to CV 114 to adjust the number of speed steps (using a 128 speed step scale) within each engine RPM notch from 1 to 15. Auto-notching is set to 7 by default, but we recommend a value of 15 when DDE is enabled. You may use the RPM+ (F5 by default) and RPM- (F6 by default) functions to manually adjust the engine RPM notch level during operation when auto-notching is enabled. George walks you through all of the bits and bytes of this CV in this video, watch now to learn more!

Wish that startup sequence was longer as with the prototype.

We shortened the sequence because many complained that our startups were too long, just like the prototype. And since it is a simulation and not the real thing, we shortened them for the decoders. We also had to factor in scale time or fast clocks. But these are the recordings we did for the startups and why they are shorter than the prototypes. Steam doesn’t have a startup sequence since it takes hours and hours to fire up a steam loco.

Another informative vid. Correct me if I'm wrong; everything presented also applies to Econami diesel decoders, including Bachmann units.

Yes these CV 114 features apply to Econami decoders as well

All well and good but you did not show what buttons you were pushing on the NCE control. I am new at this and totally in the dark. You had a lot of talk but no numbers to enter in the CV 114. I found it to be totally useless. I am trying to find out how to have my locomotives shut down at idle and remain quiet until i push a function key to start them

We do not make NCE so we cannot support it. If you don't understand how to change CVs with your command station we first recommend that you refer to its manual or reach out to NCE support. Auto-start is enabled out of the package so you will need to disable it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmmmeXaFhdeBbJYsi=_fcyrd3QJ_AUyq5v If you are finding learning your command station difficult, you may want to look into Blunami. Blunami is a DCC decoder and can be operated with your command station, but it also has the option to be controlled via Bluetooth and an easy-to-use app on your smartphone. The Blunami App is free and lets you set up all of your features with dropdowns and sliders. If you are already invested in Tsunami you can even use your Blunami to help set them up. Just set up the feature easily on your Blunami and let the app calculate the CV values for you to input with your DCC system for Tsunami2. Nice vid. Do Tsunami2 for diesel decoders have any other sounds, besides the prime mover, associated with dynamic brake application?
@SoundtraxxDCC
@SoundtraxxDCC 3 жыл бұрын
They dynamic brakes have fan and brake sounds as well as adjusting the prime mover and slowing the locomotive. You can learn more about our Dynamic Brake effects here: kzbin.info?search_query=Tsunami2+dynamic+brake

What is the sequence to fire it up function 8??
@SoundtraxxDCC
@SoundtraxxDCC 3 жыл бұрын
By default F8 is mute, but with SoundTraxx function mapping you can have any button control any effect. By default F5 is RPM+ on aftermarket Tsunami2 decoders.

Thank you for explaining the lock function. I've seen it mentioned but never explained. I'm a noob to the n scale world. One thing that bothers me is not being able to read a cv's value. On my dcc system I can only read after write??? I consider it a stupid way to set up a decoder. Memory(aka cv value) should be accessible to read before deciding to write. Maybe it's just my system but was wondering if all other systems act the same. Also I find it hard to find a list of the cv values for decoders. Thank you for all the vids. OOPS! My Bad! I found out how to read before writing CV's. It was in the manual under... Read CV'S. Funny how you find things in a manual? Sorry bout that!

Haha, Yes your manual can be your best friend. We are glad you figured it out. We have comprehensive manuals, but not everyone learns by reading, takes the time to read the manual...so we try to cover as much as we can in videos to help everyone learn. If you ever need any help our Support Team is here for you: support@soundtraxx.com

@@SoundtraxxDCC Thank you. I did read the manual but I didn't READ the manual. :) I have two different sound decoders and they map differently. For a noob like me it was a learning curve. I now have them both mapped just in case of a slip of a finger on the programming track. Thank you for the reply and great vids.

Would a value of 46 mean auto notching is default level 15, lock is off for a bit value of 0, auto start is is set to 1 for manual start, and bit 6 & 7 are left at 0 default?

Can someone tell me how to set up your locomotives so they don’t all turn on when you turn track power on ? I did CV114 and a value of 32 and that did not work it messed everything up
@SoundtraxxDCC
@SoundtraxxDCC 2 жыл бұрын
Yes you use CV 114. Here are some videos: kzbin.info?search_query=soundtraxx+auto-start If you need more assistance please contact our Support Team directly and they can walk you through the process: support@soundtraxx.com or (970)259-0690 ext. 22 Note that if you have a factory installed decoder the default values may be different than those we are showing in our videos, and this may be the source of your problem.
