I've just been watching Live in NY and Adrian Utley is playing this part over the verse as well. The rhythm is - 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + _ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ (Basically 'and to and three and four and!') E-------7-------7 B----5----5------ G---6-------6---- D-5---------------

You are still struggling… most of these chords are wrong. The major 7th sounds like a happy jazz version.
