I subscribed to play marches for my father who has dementia. He played Baritone in the Connecticut Army National Guard Band for 32 years. Sometimes he will perk up hearing these familiar marches. Thank you!

Kristen... This is a wonderful thing that you do for your father. I was my mom's caregiver. After her passing from Alzheimer's, I dug in and did a good deal of research. I don't know what disease your father has that is causing the dementia (there are many forms), and I do not know how far along he is in his disease. However, if you have not checked out Dr. Dale E. Bredesen's ReCODE Protocol, I would recommend that you do so posthaste (just Google him). I know that in the early stages of Alzheimer's, his protocol is reversing Alzheimer's, which has been documented in his book...The First Survivors of Alzheimer's. I am personally on the PRECode Protocol for the prevention of Alzheimer's and have been on it for what will be five years in September 2023. I wish you all the best. Those of us who have cared for a person with dementia, totally understand what you are going through. My prayers are with you.

so I've either listened to or played this march for my entire 65 years, and I just heard the loveliest countermelodies in the baritone section for the first time!

I like this one, this brings back memories of when I was little when I heard this song in one of my albums.

This was the first double I learned as soon as I got into the musical category here in Brazil. I joined a martial band called "Martial Band of Colégio Técnico Paralelo", in São Paulo, capital. I have very good memories of that song, as well as many others composed by John Philip Sousa that I played (And still play), throughout my life as a musician. Long live John Philip Sousa!

Of course, I know he's dead. However, when I say "Long live John Philip Sousa" I mean his work is eternal! Damn lack of interpretive intelligence, Batman!

The conductor's face remindes me of Amazon CEO. SOUSA's music is American Classical Music Indeed! I did my Utmost Efforts to go to USA with Despeate Efforts, I could not make it owing to terrible various disturbances and no cooperation of Shohei Ohtani who was also probably disturbed to help me. However, I am deterrmined firmly to change my whole life through encouraging people around the world, inlc. you US Armed Forces. While cleaning up and discarding uncessary stuff, I must restart translation. Despite of his death, Mr. Ikeda single-mindedly encourages me from another world. I must send daimoku to despicable Japanese members to be more independent from me. They should be able to take care of themselves! I will pray for them! I will write back again. Thank you very much for uploading patiently and repeatedly. I will help establishing the world peace !! Miki Takagi
