The red-billed leiothrix (Leiothrix lutea) is also known with the name Japanese nightingale but it is not a nightingale, nor is native to Japan, where it was introduced from China.
It is not easy but neither difficult to meet them on Mount Tsukuba. They move in small groups staying mostly hidden in the vegetation.
Very cute and shy!
