As an Engineer student in the making I think political influences have abused this once upon a time awesome sector. When I was working for a consulting. I can't count how many bribes I was offered to cut corners in projects. I don't think will recover from this. ECSA needs to intervene and strengthen their policies around consulting and construction firms in relation to high level assessments of student development in firms and protect engineers from political sabotage. I don't blame why some engineers migrate. Professionalism is being bruised here in Mzansi . And lastly encourage private sector absorb graduates as means of social responsibility.

After 43 years as a construction engineer in South Africa with the last 12 or so years focusing on mentoring and training emerging "technicians", I was no longer allowed to work on site as I would try and correct subtandard work that did not conform to industry norms as well as not conforming to contractual legalities. A further unwritten rule imposed by the main government department in our province was that only BEE engineers were allowed to work on the government projects. My vast experience on all aspects of civil engineering construction and love of training young engineers has therefore been lost to the industry forever.

It's a spiritual problem, and when Isaiah 28 starts in this country, South Africa faces a period of 75 days when there will be no human government to intervene. This is only one of the judgements of YHWH that will start to engulf south africa, and others will follow until this country acknowledges Who truly reigns here, and His Name is YHWH (YaHWeHshua) and He will cleanse this land thoroughly, *[[Mat **3:12**]] TS2009* “His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He shall thoroughly cleanse His threshing-floor, and gather His wheat into the storehouse, but the chaff He shall burn with unquenchable fire.”

I know that indians and coloureds are also affected and once whites have been totally pushed out indians and coloureds will suffer to a greater degree from this type of racism until they go the same route. I agree, this is what makes this so scary. It is not about colour anymore. Engineers of all colour are not being utilized to their technical skill in this country. All promises, no plan. In fact, I think just on the basis of being a 'South African' should you leave to obtain foreign residence somewhere well suited. An S.A Passport are now in many countries known as the 'green mamba' and is not a good suiter for traveling. My advice: work your butt off to obtain a 1st world citizenship/residency so you have the option when S.H.T.F to slide back to a better world without being condemned for your country of 'origin.' There are countries faaar more beautiful than South Africa and you really will not lose anything in terms of interpersonal advantages or culture any more than in this country. It is a hoax that people believe S.A is 'unique'. Every culture is unique and significantly so in their own way.

First off, your statement is not quite Grammatically coherent - I think what you meant is 'South Africa 'do not' need Engineers'. I only partially agree - We need Professionals, unless you want bottlenecks. There is a myth now going around that Universities are overemphasized to train Tertiary Professionals, but some Professions are still timeless, like Doctors/Lawyers/Engineers for instance. You would not trust an everyday-man/woman to perform surgery on you knowing they are not a Doctor; the same for Professional Engineers designing high profile structures/prototypes, etc. There definitely should be more implementation to elevate Professionals for the very tiers they were educated for. South African unfortunately fail to do both - Provide education, and re-positioning Professionals.
