As South Africans who have travelled the world and who grew up being exposed to content from everywhere else in the world, we are often shocked at the surprise of black people from America when they see South Africa and make these videos. My favourite show when I was a kid was a British show called Globe Trekker. It pretty much showed us just about every corner of the world. Studying in Britain, I remember my university mates in the UK saying South Africa is the country they'd want to explore the least because of their exposure to how similar it is to Britain. I'd disagree with them because it's similar and different. Similarities are on first world amenities, but differences are on sunshine most of the year, the wide range of wild animals you can see, the way we party and engage with each other, South Africans are warm and often start conversations with strangers when that's not the norm in the West. The shock of black people from America online often shocks us though.

I like the part where you've travelled and studied overseas. I don't blame folks for making such content. I remember I wrote on a comment on Facebook as to why Mzansi folks speak about EC and iBhayi like foreigners speak about Africa with prejudice and stereotypical comments. Some people said they've definitely noticed that paternised behaviour and blamed people from EC for feeding and enhancing South Africans to have such mentality about EC. Back in 2015 when we had the by-elections at my former neighbourhood (KwaMagxaki), we were dismissed by the media that we were bribed by food parcels in making us vote for UDM and kick out ANC, whereas UDM said that we were entitled to the food parcels and ANC kept giving food parcels to Veeplaas because "Magxaki people like eating Weet Bix"😂. KwaMagxaki was built during apartheid (1980s) for black professionals such as lawyers, teachers, nurses and doctors. So it was an optic of middle-class black neighbourhood that outvoted ANC and Justice Mala interviewed Zizi Kodwa about it on eNCA. Some folks on Facebook explained that people were torching policemens houses in New Brighton after 1976 youth protest. I didn't understand it (I'm born in '94) until I watched the movie, Poppie Nongena. ANC merged an informal settlement that had people living in shacks with the middle-class neighbourhood. Not even the apartheid government dared to do that. A lot of people didn't know that eBhayi and it explains why the media was dismissive about ANC winning back the Ward 30 during the municipality elections the following year. Because of this, a lot of my peers have either moved out the city to work at Cape Town or Joburg, our families have moved to suburban areas or our parents have moved to their homelands after retirement.

Sunday market is Oranjezicht Market at the Waterfront (opposite the Grand Beach Cafe - on top of the hill). If you still here for another weekend - do yourself a favor and go on a Saturday to really experience OBM and to the other market on a Sunday.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and passion on these important issues. It’s clear you’re deeply committed to truth and advocating for the empowerment of African-descended people. Many share the ways media and technology are often used to manipulate narratives and enable exploitation. It’s essential for us as the melanin community to remain vigilant, challenge mainstream narratives, and take control of own stories. Platforms that amplify authentic voices and experiences are vital in resisting exploitation and building solidarity amongst us as people of African descendants. Your pride and respect for yourself, truth and us as South Africans and other African brothers and sisters underscore hope, unity and resilience and impotence of our originality as black people. We are the real J**s and the chosen ones and mark my words. Sending much love and respect to everyone working toward a more just and equitable future for all of us as black people! Salute brother❤️🤞.

16:22 the land issue: correction. 75% of "the land" is not owned by whites. let me explain: south africa is semi-desert (arid). 30% of the entire country is good to farm. 75% *of the 30%* farmable land is owned by white farmers (who feed the country). the anc government (black) is the largest property owner in the country. when land is made available to black folks (as part of redressing the past), they can choose to take the land or take the monetary value of the land. 94% of the people *choose the money.* this means, once they've used the money, they *still* dont have land. then, when the stats come around, it still shows the majority of people "landless." this is a failure on the part of the current government. instead of genuinely helping people out of poverty, they *literally* steal *everything* ...and then blame the whites. rinse and repeat 😑

Till they completely abandoned and surrendered their culture and language to the abyss. Less than 0,5% of the Khoi and San even know what the language sounds like let alone make sense of it. Sadly it's a total and utter victory for the settlers in Cape Town and surroundings to an extent of them allowing themselves to be completely defined by their captors. Some of them even deny being African. That's how powerful white people are in Cape Town.

The Afrikaans language is made up of 3 European languages it's a mixture of mainly Dutch ( hence the name Kitchen Dutch) with French and German That's why thee Afrikaans people have Dutch, French and German surnames. The Khoisan people also known as bushmen have and have ALWAYS had their own language! Did not create Afrikaans. If some tour guide told you that you need to find him and get a refund!

Land inequality is a very, very small portion of South Africa. You most certainly do have the larger corps, richer families that have a hold on land. But that is not the norm for white South Africans in the slightest. I don't know a single white person that has more than 10 acres of land, and I am 42 years old. Never met one. Yet I know multiple black South Africans that have farms for hectares upon hectares. Where I live, it is roughly a 50/50 split between black and white. Education is the deciding factor on who can afford what right now, and for the last 25+ years, the education has been abysmal for black South Africans through a black political party run country. They choose to line their pockets, send their kids to the States, use Private Hospitals and yet the children are dying in pit toilets because there is no money to be sent to the schools! It is a disgrace. Both on Apartheid, but for a pretty wealthy government, not doing enough for their people...shambles. Greed is the killer of the people.
