@@johnrennie3561 thanks for the comments. Great to hear people that have travelled it and also look for the little back roads to explore.

Thank you. I often drove that road--I was relieving in Mossel Bay in 1969 and 1970 and my fiancé was living in Port Elizabeth. I travelled that road every weekend; there and back. Great memories. I sooo wish they would at least maintain the road. And for the calculating heads out there ... yes, I am eighty-ish.

Can you drive the whole way through on the eastern cape side
@Seegsoutdoor27 күн бұрын
@@onemanrunning yes you can. The road is passable narrow in places where rocks have fallen. The road exits back onto the N2 about midway between Bloukrans and Stormsriver.

We used to travel that road so many times between Uitenhage and George in the 1970's. We always saw the baboons down by the river bridge. Wonder if they are still there ? So sad to see the deterioration of the road on the Eastern Cape side.
@Seegsoutdoor27 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing. I definitely saw signs of baboon in the area around the bridge. So I’m sure those troops have continued to live on there. It’s very untouched down there so not much human activity going on.

@@Seegsoutdoor Thanks. Nice to know that the baboons are still there. That was a dangerous road just up from the bridge. We used to see a few car wrecks from vehicles that went over the side.
