Since 1962, The Dubliners have been enthralling audiences worldwide with their music and song. The strength and attractiveness of The Dubliners has always been in the personalities of the musicians who have made up this boisterous band of balladeers, from original members, Ronnie Drew, Barney McKenna, Luke Kelly, Ciarán Bourke, John Sheahan and Bob Lynch to the arrival at different stages of Jim McCann, Seán Cannon, Eamonn Campbell and finally the peerless Paddy Reilly.
Produced By: David Donaghy
Sound Engineer: Brian Nartey

I love that, when he wasn't doing anything with his hands, they moved into position to play the banjo. This is a great shanty and Barney gave a wonderful lead rendition!

I met Barney at the bar of Croydon Fairfield halls. A pint of Guinness at Croydon of all places. I owed him many. I'm very glad I got he chance to buy him at least one pint. Thanks Barney.

Barney McKenna is one of those people that has resting farmer face. Like if he wasn't playing banjo in the Dubliners, you'd expect him to order a pint a cider and a plate o' pork scratchins after a hard day on the moor herding cattle. Incidentally... I'd like the same order.

I'm from SA and I've never heard half of these lyrics. Makes me appreciate that this is a Irish song rather than an Aussie song, Well done. No convicts were ever sent to SA, they were free folk, I think this is the point of the song.
