I'll never forget this place. In 2005 I had lived in South Carolina for less than a year, and my roommate brought me here on lovely summer day. I was born and raised in the mountains of northeastern Alabama where there are quite a few beautiful rivers, lakes, waterfalls, etc., but I had never seen water so clear before in my life...and its' amazing blue/green color was like something straight out of the Caribbean. We had a lot of fun that day, to be sure. The history of the area only adds to its' mystique...I'd love to do some scuba diving there someday. I've long since returned to my home state, but I still reminisce often about the breathtaking scenery of Devil's Fork and Lake Jocassee. Thanks for sharing this place with me, Richard! Sorry about the ticket!

@@FunInSC You're welcome. Thank you for sharing somethings so special... your time. Don't ever take a second for granted with your family. Nothing is worth arguing about, there aren't enough hugs & I love you's in this world and there are no promises of 5 minutes from now, for any of us. Animals can teach us unconditional love, if we just pay attentional. May Yahweh bless you and keep you all. Nature is a beautiful thing. I am a 34 year scuba scuba diver. Keep your child and your pets in safety approved life vest any time you are near the water. My dog once lost her footing and was swept away. Luckily she was saved by a brave man. It was horrific to feel so out of control. Now keep my dogs on a tether anytime I'm near rapids. It only takes one mistake. Always have your child in a life vest or tethered when near the water. My dad taught me safety first. Always. It's your job to teach her safety 1st, outdoors. Then she will teach it to her children someday too.

We looked for several years for where to retire. At one point, we were considering Greenville, SC and checked out surrounding areas and that is when we found this video. Though we haven't chosen this area, I still come back here to view this video at times, because you did such an amazing job with it. The music, scenery, filming were beautiful. It is a soothing retreat. Thanks for using your talents to bless me.

@@greenridgeoutdooradventure3433 yes..summer is the busiest time and the park actually will turn people around when its reached capacity. If you have a campsite you can always get in though. Weekdays and weeks when schools are not on vacation is your best bet.
