I love your enthusiasm for life Freddie! This is what riding bikes was like when I first started biking in the mid 70’s. You didn’t need full leathers and superbikes to enjoy biking. I think people have been conditioned through advertising to believe they need the latest and best so it’s a breath of fresh air watching your adventures with Monika.😊

Yes indeed Chris, I remember that well with my mates, all on Brit Bikes. Back then though the bikers would usually ride in small groups, unlike F + M. Single bikers were mostly only ever seen doing the to and from work ride.

Freddie I love your videos but please be careful about drinking from rivers. All it takes is a liver fluke parasite from one of the thousands of sheep that wade and drink that river in a year to get inside you and you will have very serious and often permanent health conditions, Happened to a friend of mine recently. Also there are lots of poisonous chemicals from farming in the water these days. Always use a filtration kit like the Army issue. They do it for a good reason. Country rivers are not pure and clean at all these days, they may look like it, but if you took a sample from that river to a lab you would be horrified to discover what is in it.

The great thing about your videos is that while they are, of course about motor cycles, they are also about the lifestyle that owning and riding a bike can bring, and this is what makes you both so watchable, together with your enthusiasm for everything you do, and, of course, Monica laughing at you occasionally from behind the camera.. Incidentally, a nerdy historical note about Slapton Sands: it looked beautiful in your film but it was the location of a major amphibious exercise in WW2 in preparation for D-Day. Sadly, there was a series of major cock-ups resulting in a heavy death toll of mainly American soldiers. The full story will certainly be on the web somewhere if you Google it. Where ever you go, there's history!
