You are spot on!! I think publically it's one thing; in an interview she better give this answer... But in private??? Oh it's another story. When I visited Korea many times, I was a bit surprised to find that casual sex was kind of normal, because of public fakery like this and the facade of sexual prudishness presented by Korean media. When no one's looking, Seoul is a very wild place. Don't be fooled by this interview at all.

Relationships have a better shot at success when people get to know each other emotionnally before getting to know each other physically. However it depends on how much you know yourself and your worth for things to be healthy.

You’re smart! Many people don’t know that because they lack knowledge which result in lack of awareness. The more you know about someone, the more predictable they are, which means the success rate of the relationship would be higher if both partners knew enough about each other so they would know what to do keep the relationship healthy and what to expect from each other. It’s refreshing to see people with common sense like you 🤓

@Squidmoto3

Compared to the west it definitely is. 3-5 dates before even kissing would literally never fly in the US unless you're a teenager. They would just think you're not interested. So if your "stated intention" is to be with someone, at that point I don't see what waiting does - especially because marriage is basically becoming a thing of the past, so no one is waiting for that anymore unless you're like some brainwashed alt-right evangelical christian.

Yep, that's why they start dating so fast and also break up so fast 😅 Yes, there are definitely many conservative, traditional people, but it's quite similar to what it is back home. In my personal experience, korean people think we, westerners are much more sexually liberated than they are but truth be told, the only different thing is how sex is portrayed in the media and how society reacts to it. However, you will commonly find people having one night stands, affairs, fetishes, they just don't talk much about it.

Stop the cap. Westerners mindset or philosophy is very different from South Korea. I’m from the West, my best friend is Korean so I know a lot. South Korea hate violence and problematic people, that’s why they take their image and reputation seriously. They hate guns, drugs, prostitution etc. they value social harmony. In the West, it’s narcissism everywhere lmao.

I think I need to move more East ... Here in Czechia I think it took longer here, but now? Its like in the west. Navigating current dating market is a nightmare. Unless you got your partner 10yrs ago you are out of luck. People having rosters, situationships, friends with benefits. Wonder why STD cases are on the rise... I am not religious... But still, where have the morals and self respect gone? Nobody thinking about long term relationships nowadays and when they hit 30-35 they are just starting to get serious, but they cant because they already shot their brains and cant stop going after the next new thing.

Everywhere you walk in South Korea, you’re either going to see a couple hugging, holding hands or being romantic. Koreans take family, romantic relationships, friendships or relationships in general very seriously. They value social harmony, it’s part of their culture. My best friend is Korean and the time I spend with her almost a year ago in South Korea, was the best experience in my life. Koreans do know how to make you feel special, because they genuinely value relationships. They’re professionals at what they do. Get yourself a Korean friend or partner, get interested in the culture and your life will blossom 🇰🇷❤️

@@coffeetae your perception of people or things in general shapes your reality. If you’re not aware of that, then you’re already setting yourself up for failure. The reason why my Korean friend and I are best friends is simply because, there’s no reason for us to not be 😂 Don’t understand what I mean? It means that there are reasons for us to be best friends, therefore we are. We are compatible, we know each other very well, so we both have become predictable, which builds trust and comfort. Because we are compatible, bonding and communication comes natural. And because we know each other very well, the trust is there. So we have no choice but to be best friends because we both wanted to. Actions and decisions are determined by “reason” which is inevitable. I will note that - you are attracted to what you are, in other words, you are subconsciously attracted to someone or something that is a reflection of your personality or you. So if you’ve had bad experiences, then you need to become more aware of your personality, self awareness, and figure out who’s at fault.

@@dripxenseixensei3822 It’s great that you and your best friend have a good relationship. I also had great korean friendships. I was simply stating that in general, I (and other foreigners that I have heard of) have noticed the culture difference in relationships. It’s a deep rooted issue in korean culture that I wouldn’t be able to begin getting into. I certainly never encountered the same issue with my friendships back home, so I would not consider myself the direct problem but rather the cultural difference in values. Consider yourself lucky if you never had a single bad experience.
