Fishing boats are actually a pretty significant danger to submarines. Obviously when you have a massive nuclear powered submarine it's normally the fishing boat that is at risk, but even for them it can give away their location in hostile waters. Avoiding trawlers is a very real consideration for submarine captains.

In retaliation, The US Army prepared all the strategic assets in the background, including B-52 bombers and a fleer carrier squadron, to cut down the tree again. The idea was if NK made such a poor choice for a random tree once again, they'll pay the price. And the scary part was, the President of SK of the time thought it's a good chance to finish the Korean War in everlasting armistice. He disguised a few dozens of special force soldiers as normal tree-chopping grunts with a secret mission: provoke NK at all costs, do or die, so the joint force of the US and SK can resume the war. They actually vandalized a few guarding posts on the site, but NK held themselves desperately, presumably knowing what price they would pay. The operation was completed in 43 mins with a chopped tree. All the war machines of mass destruction returned to their base without unleashing their might. NK learned a good lesson to not cross the last line: they do all the shittalks, publicly denounce and threat the US and SK, but keep silence or even send a word of condolence when the real war is imminent, such as in case of 9/11.
