When Stan was giving his speech in front of the town, I looked at the time and got pumped thinking we were getting a two-parter, but Randy's "Bro! I got shot!" felt like a classic SP trolling the audience with their ending. Lmao. Three great episodes so far. B+ tier for me

It's kind of a weird middle ground they're trying to find with Randy. They really don't want to let go of Tegridy Farms but also are getting him into antics that aren't weed-related and are keeping Nelson around too. I don't know how to feel about it, especially after Streaming Wars 2 teased us like that.

Think this episode handled it well. It's a successful business that he genuinely loves doing, so he has no reason to quit it, but it isn't getting shoved in our faces with constant weed jokes and he's very much acting like Randy first and foremost. That said, for posterity, on the MACRO level I find the concept of the Tegridy half-season a few years back downright hilarious. I genuinely think it was funny as hell that they saw everyone getting pissed off at one-note weed joke episodes, week by week, and then followed it up with another one for six straight weeks. Doesn't mean I'll be revisiting those episodes any time soon, but it's classic Matt and Trey that they did that.

What I saw in this episode was an analogy between Big Oil (Toilet Paper) and alternative energy (Japanese Toilets), specifically Tesla IMO. When Randy is shopping for a toilet, the salesman asked if he'd like to take one of the Japanese toilets for a test drive while holding up car keys. This was the most obvious comparison to me. After Randy bought one, all he wants to do is show it off and try to convert everyone else to get one (like many Tesla owners). He even makes an argument of how it pays itself off in the long term due to savings on TP and Hemroid cream; many Tesla owners also make this point as well by comparing the cost of gasoline to how much money it takes to charge their car. Additionally, Randy being assassinated is also reflective of conspiracy theories that say people have been created alternative energy sources to oil for close to 100 years now and they have all been silenced and their technology destroyed by "Big Oil"; I don't buy into these theories too much, personally, but it seem like another point of conjecture for the analogy and the episode.

This fundamentally works for *any* large businesses which profit from antiquated technology. Tires for instance have no reason to pop, the industry just uses old model tires because there would be no profit if you only had to sell people tires once. In theory, if cancer could be cured, then billions of dollars would be lost out of the hands of a few. The fucked thing is, its good satire because its so true. Violence really solves everything, and who is more well-positioned to hire an assassin if someone introduces a novel, progressive technology besides fabulously wealthy executives?

Something I've noticed is consistent since the Cartoon Wars saga and honestly probably earlier is that, whenever SP gets REALLY tongue-in-cheek sarcastic about a moral (this ep, 201, etc), the point they're making is "threats of violence and other extreme punishments against the advocates for a cause and their loved ones genuinely do work to silence it, and we think that's absolutely abhorrent." Honestly makes me hope that they do an episode on stochastic terrorism type stuff.

This was coming to the logical conclusion that not only did humanity use too much toilet paper over the years, but they also used to much toilet jokes.

@@mstr293 So I don't live in the USA, but from a quick google search and some calculations, it turns out I'd save the equivalant of a 100 USD if I stopped using toilet paper. If my whole household did it, that's 300 USD. And that does not sound like much, but a medium bottle of water costs the equivalant of half a dollar, so this is like 300 liters of water. Or 40 McDonalds meals (burger + fries + drink). Or three months worth of electricity. Basically, it's nothing to scoff at.

@@JanisFever That dose does not make it a good product for our buttholes. Toilet paper is a known contributor to anal fissures, hemorrhoids, staff infections of the anus, and even rectal cancer. Not to mention the cost difference. You can get a sprayer bidet for $30. Buy up a bunch of brown face towels to dry with for another $30ish and never have to buy toilet paper again. I have had mine for just over a year now. Every aspect of that part of my life is better. I have also saved quite a good chunk of money this first year.

"The word “brunch” was coined by British writer Guy Beringer in an 1895 article in Hunter's Weekly. He argued that instead of the post-church early dinner that was typical in England at that time, there should be a hybrid of breakfast and lunch served around noon for “Saturday-night carousers” to enjoy." then in the early 1900s it was popularised as a meal on Sundays to help deal with hangovers from the night before - of course it became popular when beer was involved - then Americans took it and turned it into what it is now

Like if all together if a season’s average was calculated on a 1-6 scale (a = 1 and 6 = f) and the average (going to like the hundredth decimal) would be combining all the season’s episodes ratings together and divided by the amount of episodes. I think it’d be interesting and would show scientifically which season was your favorite and being able to view whether or not this new one could keep up its streak :) I think it’d also be interesting to see if you agree with the average to see if this season really was your personal favorite or whether your favorite is based on something more than just your individual liking of episodes accumulating

I think you were off on Randy's motivations at the end. He was in fact a big believer in axing toilet paper. The whole "Say you're sorry, South Park!" was meta commentary in the same vein as the end of Trapped In The Closet when Stan's having the "WE'LL SUE!" "SUE US THEN!" exchange with Scientologists.

The way this episode goes reminds me of the massive push that cigarette companies want people to stay away from vape

I think the reason you might feel discomfort--or dread--visiting a home improvement store (such as Home Depot) is because there are usually wood enthusiasts and hobbyists there who spend quite a bit of time there, know where everything is, what every little part is for. I wouldn't say I felt anxious, but I definitely felt as though I'm just here to get light bulbs... and I wasn't sure which I needed 😅 so I brought my dead ones to the store. I just wanted to get out asap. There's nothing wrong with not being a woodworker or hobbyist involving home improvement. Just remind yourself it's a store like any other 😁 Also, great video :)

I feel that way too, there was this one time when I was young where I went to one with my aunt and had a overwhelming dread over me, my theory, maybe it’s something to do with the way the wood smells, idk, I could be very wrong 🤷‍♂️

Note... Don't get a 40 dollar Bidet... Spurge for a 200 dollar heated seat with heated water. The Air is not a pleasant experience, dry with some Quality TP! -and you wont get shot by the charmin bear- I suppose if you're in like Cali or Florida where tap water is 80 degrees, then a 40 dollar seat would do. The water is currently 42 degrees out of the tap, great for filtered water, not so great for sensitive areas.

1:42 yes but only because I worked night shift in one as a teenager while being severely understaffed. A whole warehouse sized store with only 3 people stocking heavy parts, machinery, and tools alone.

the home improvement stores thing is true-i get this feeling specifically in Lowes & Sears. its comparable to the feeling I get in huge warehouse gyms like planet fitness . the sheer vastness of them is foreboding kind of like the thought of our endless galaxy. anyway great video as usual :P❤️

I just realized that when Jimmy said that the toiulet paper companies took everything from him, he mentions a bike. I don't know if there are special bikes for handicapped people, but if it was a conventional bike, then that was an amazing joke.
