Clooney was a big influence on getting the show on the air in the first place, as he spread around a bootleg copy of a video Parker and Stone did, that featured the prototypes of the South Park kids (I think it was called “Santa vs Frosty”). He thought it was hilarious and made sure as many people as possible saw it!

Brian Boitano said he didn't get why the movie made a big deal out of him, the creators said that is why they did. I'm sure he deserves the praise as a successful Olympic athlete. South Park is known for going after celebs with big heads so in a way it makes sense they would praise humility.

It must be hard enough just to get a musical reaction uploaded, factor in 399 swear words, 199 offensive gestures and 221 acts of violence, and you’ve got a full time job 😂 Really well done on the editing to still keep all the plot points. Matt and Trey worked so hard to get this down to an R rating in the US. The MPAA kept on giving it an NC17 certificate due to the profanity, which Matt and Trey knew would not make the film viable at the box office. Hence, the line near the end of the film about the MPAA saying violence is ok as long as nobody swears. Brian Boitano one of the few people to be portrayed favourably. He brought out a TV cooking show called “what would Brian Boitano make”.

One of the greatest musicals ever produced, and none other than Steven Sondheim agrees. He wrote a letter to Matt Stone & Trey Parker praising them for this movie upon its release, calling it the funniest and most original score he'd seen in years. Matt Parker said that the letter was a more important bit of praise than all the Oscars in the world. They also, jokingly, wrote back saying, "We think you've done a few good ones too." Edit: Also, good catch on George Clooney as the doctor. Other voices you may have missed are Brent Spiner playing Conan O'Brien, Dave Foley as all of the Baldwins, and Metallica vocalist James Hetfield singing the song "Hell Isn't Good" as Kenny descends into Hell. The original title of the movie was South Park: All Hell Breaks Loose, but the MPAA objected to the use of "hell" in the title, so they changed it to a penis joke that went over their heads until it was too late to change.

Well, you can't see 'South Park' on stage..yet. However, you can see 'The Book of Mormon' which was written by Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez. It is one of the longest-running musicals on Broadway, and is on tour everywhere. The score for the show is filled with amazing songs that are hummable and hysterical. It won a ton of Tonys and other theatrical awards when it opened. It also launched the career of Josh Gad (the voice of Olaf in the 'Frozen' franchise). Lopez is an EGOT, having won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony...he wrote the music for the stage musical 'Avenue Q' (which is like Sesame Street on a bender), and the Disney films 'Frozen' 1 & 2, and 'Coco'.

He was one of the Hollywood people who shared the VHS tape that started it all, and then agreed to play the gay dog "Sparky" in S1 E4 in which he does nothing but make dog noises. Then Parker and Stone took a shit on him a few years later by using a recording of his actual Oscar acceptance speech which contributes to an entire cloud of poisonous "smug." So a few fun things. 1 is that the MPAA had a problem with Trey and Matt wanting to name this film all hell breaks loose, so being who they are, they said f*ck you in the most creative way, by naming it Bigger Longer and uncut. The MPAA didn't have any issue with the new title until two weeks before release and then they got the joke but at that point it's two weeks from release they couldn't change the name. Because the MPAA was frequently breathing down their neck they ended up having to change the lyrics of a song that they were writing because the title of that song is one of George Carlin seven dirty words you can't say on television (motherf*cker). The result is the one that ended up in the film song by Terrance and Phillip which is arguably much better than the previous title of that song. At this point in the series there were two running gags one-month the constant killing of Kenny the other was every time Stan went to go talk to Wendy he would throw up on her. Blame Canada actually got nominated for an oscar but lost to Phil Collins because that was the year that the film Tarzan came out. In the years since this movie came out Matt and Trey are now Tony award-winning artists for their Musical The Book of Mormon. One of the Great Moments of this film is when Cartman goes Super Saiyan at Kyle's behest once he realizes what he can do with the v-chip

It was George Clooney. He also voiced Sparky, Stan's gay dog in episode 4 of the series. Clooney was a very early supporter of South Park, sending the Spirit of Christmas video clip to his friends 2 years before South Park aired.

I saw this in the theater, and watching confused parents, hurriedly ushering their kids out of an R-rated movie, made it even more hilarious and punk rock.

That is George Clooney! He also voiced a gay dog in an early episode of the show =) And by "voiced" I mean he barked a few times lol

The “La Resistance Medley” is a play off the resistance medley from Les Miserables, so you’re correct with your Broadway statement!

The Doctor was voiced by Clooney. In Season 1, the studio wanted them to have a celebrity guest, which the creators didn't want, so they got George Clooney to voice a (gay) dog whose only lines were growls and grunts. This is Clooney's "other" character in the franchise.

For swearing in a cartoon, you have to have over 400 swear words to get an NC-17 rating, which limits film distribution. So to avoid the NC-17 rating, the movie has exactly 399 swear words.

*_Fun Fact:_* While you won't find 'It's Easy, M'kay' at a Broadway show, Robin Williams actually performed 'Blame Canada' at the Oscars around 20 years ago.

Now that you've seen this, you need to witness the comedic genius that is BASEketball (1998). It stars the creators of South Park as the leads. Fact: The creators had to deal with the MPA do deal with avoiding the movie getting an NC-17 film. If the film got 400 swear words, it would get the rating. The amount in this film? 399.

this sound track is AWSOME...Also the creators of south park sent around a video xmas card years ago that George Clooney though was hilarious, he had a HUGE hand in getting their show started.

The music in this IS outstanding. While I don’t believe this itself is a broadway play, the writers of South spark also wrote Book of Mormon which is a broadway musical! I highly recommend it!

One of the best movie going experiences I had was seeing this one about a week after it came out. Many in the audience had apparently already seen it a number of times, as it became a sing-along, especially with Kyle's Mom...

Jen, this movie is genius. I saw it when it was in theaters. Half the crowd walked out of the movie, dragging their young children with them, when the “Uncle Fucker” song started. Life was literally imitating art. Laughed my ass off. Who takes their 7 yr old to an R rated movie? Smdh… 😂😂😂

I used to work in a pub kitchen, and me and the other chef loved this film so much we bought the CD and had it playing all day while we sang along 😅 Luckily the kitchen was upstairs and well away from the dining area! 😮🤣

“NICE! I have no clue how we are going to put that on KZbin!” And that might be the greatest summation of South Park ever. I vividly remember going to see this in theaters and at the ripe old age of 21… I was still required to show ID to get in. Kid you not. And every screening was full. And you have not lived until you have been in a theater full of people clapping along in time to “Kyle’s Mom Is a Stupid B--h” like it’s the Country Bear Jamboree at Disneyland. And the craziest part? Here we are nearly 25 years on and I’ll be damned if the movie isn’t considered a classic.
