I grew up just across the park next to Weyerhauser. I spent many hours trackside watching them switch cars at those businesses. I also got MANY cab rides in the 700s and GP7s back in the mid to late 70s there. Great memories! It's sad to see that area now.

Another great video from MIchiana. I taught at Notre Dame for 3 years in the late 70's and remember the freight extension when its track was fresh and clean. I also recall the self propelled crane used by the university to move the coal hoppers delivered from the Niles branch.

Fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed and thanks for posting. I am in the UK and a big fan of the South Shore. Subscribed and watched all your videos since picking-up on Switching with the yellow GPs and also Kingsbury B. Park. This is brilliant to watch and learn from. I can't wait for the other related videos. Thank you.

Good video. I've always been curious about the pumpkin vine railroad that ran from Goshen to Shipshewana. It may have ran up to Michigan. It's now a bike trail.

I enjoyed this presentation. It is interesting that the Humvees were loaded up along Bendix Dr. considering the distance it was from the AM General plant. That would have been an interesting operation to see.

I had no idea the South Shore did freight in south bend. I always assumed it was only in NWI. Thanks for helping me learn something new and awesome video!
