There is plenty of blame to go around: The developer of the area from when those homes were built did NOT install the correct size of pipes, knowing that that development was at the lowest point in the area. The City is at fault for approving the development in the first place and approving the drains. The City approved the development of the park next to the area and it sits higher than the homes. Mud and silt from the alley way and the park flow lnto the drains of that area. The dranage channels in the area are not maintained because of the State of California requires permits to clean up the channels.
@Feedergang10 ай бұрын
The developers could care less the area was 1/10th the population when it was constructed. The flood channel degree is out of control and it’s been that way for over 10 years.
@wsgeo10 ай бұрын
@lowkeygato2133 I agree with you, the developer is long gone, and that's a problem that plagues older built developments, the old infrastructure can't handle all the water that comes later. That is what happened along the channels in Encanto area. But, let me emphasize that Beta Alley in the Southcrest neighborhood is a dirt alley way that contributes to the cloging of the drains that along with the Southwest Trails Park. and the Channel north of the park. You can even see all of the brush that's built up in the channel on Google Maps.
@pipeflush10 ай бұрын
@@Feedergangyeah that neighborhood aka shelltown has been there a long time its not some new development for hipsters. The storm channels have to be maintained and kept clean from brush and debri. Not to mention the homeless leave those places in or near the storm channels full of trash.
