A very fast trip down to Gravesend on the way to Faversham! Another high speed travel today; in the tunnels, we reached speeds of 140mph, the maximum permitted speed of any train in the UK! At Ebbsfleet, overhead electrification (25 kV 50 Hz AC) stops and the train switched to the 750V DC third rail electrification mode. However, there is hardly any difference in acceleration! It honestly feels exactly the same in both power modes! Sit back, relax and enjoy the speed!
