As a southern Baptist I think southern Baptist should pick a battle worth fighting. This isn’t it. IVF and abortion are two totally different things. IVF is streamlining natural selection in order to help a couple who has been praying for a child and haven’t been able to conceive yet. One doesn’t start off with IVF it’s pretty much the second to last option other than adoption.

Adoption is near impossible. Income, age, and even square footage requirements. Most applicants are turned away.

As someone who has had some struggles with fertility, I cannot take this away from someone who wants to be a mother. I do not believe that any group can absolutely know what God's will is on these modern topics. Personally i would never presume to make a statement and say unequivocally that this is God's will. Also, why cant this be a personal decision? Why do we have to force people to live under rules that we are unsure about? If you believe its not what God wants, then dont do it. Why does there need to be a government law? God gave us a choice.

Good evening. Let me cut to the chase. My wife and I were fortunate to give birth to a child after many tries and failed effort. With Father's Day fast approaching, I am delighted to be a dad. I have family and friends who are not fortunate to be called a parent. In many parts of the world a woman who is unable to give birth is despised and looked down on. Some of them are called "mule" or something else. My wife informed me that she, who is a devoted Christian from birth told me her doctor recommend IVF. If tested, proven and safe technology exist, why should a person or organization dictate to a couple on what to do. What when they get old and there is no one to care for them?
