One of my favorite things at Thanksgiving when I was a kid 60 years ago, was getting to taste mom's cornbread dressing before she baked it. When I got married at 18, hubby preferred stuffing, so that's what I've always made. I sure wish I had mom's dressing recipe, but I know she made buttermilk cornbread in her cast iron skillet, and she used plenty of celery and onions and the liquid was homemade turkey stock. She seasoned with plenty of poultry seasoning and baked it in her big oval Wagner Ware roaster. Thanks for your video and version, it looks delicious! I just might have to make a pan just to see if I can. 😊

I thoroughly enjoy your videos! You are a fantastic teacher with a very down to earth personality that brings so much joy to your kitchen and in return, to mine! Yes, I would love to watch you make your recipe for cornbread. My husband and I live up here in New Brunswick, Canada. He is from West Virginia, so you can imagine how much he loves cornbread. I have been on a quest for 24 years to find a recipe for cornbread that he really likes, but it has not happened yet. I have made countless recipes and always get him to score them from 1 to 10. The highest score as of yet is only a 7 and that is not good enough for me, I want nothing less than a 9. It is discouraging at times but I refuse to give up! There has got to be a recipe somewhere in the universe that he would take a bite and smile real big and say, “that’s the one”! Here is hoping it is yours Talli Faye. Stay Blessed! 🙏🏻
