When me and my wife met she was going to Howard university. I was starting my first year at Harvard. She wanted our first date to be at the homecoming game..I'm 6'8 290 and was low-key nervous about fitting in...but what started out as nervous quickly became the BEST TIME OF MY LIFE the game was energized..the halftime was crazy fun..and afterwards that damn cookout.. . The energy..the vibes .. people treated me like family. ...just GENUINELY good people .. This older lady ms. Evette told me "you better treat her right white chocolate. Or I'm coming for ya" and then handed me banana pudding...i HATE bananas but that pudding was BOMB ..I have tried to make it for .y inlaws, bless their hearts they know it doesn't taste authentic but they give me a partial pass🤣 me being a bit closed minded and never having been to a HBCU. I thought I would be the "standout" and treated differently.. but I wasn't . I got a few odd looks from some of the guys because my wife is bad ASF ..but overall I was embraced.. welcomed.. fed more than I could hold in. . Flirted with. Tossed the skin a few rounds And I made lifelong friends there. As well as spending time with the woman I'd marry 5 years later I met Darius, tyrik, Joel, Malcom, jabarii and allyn. That nite They went on to be my groomsmen. And they are all my daughter and my sons godfathers. I'm the godfather of jabby, ty, and allyn's kids We go on boys trips every 60 days. They keep watch over my family when I'm away on business I check up on them daily . And jabby (jabarii) is now part owner of one of my businesses..the guy is a GENIUS at business management.. I wish he would run them all. I regret being nervous that nite.. because it made me a little standoffish..I could have made more friends .
