King James Bible | From Script to Scripture: The History of the Bible

We’re excited to share the opening of a special exhibit on January 15 in the Lynn H. Wood Archaeological Museum: “From Script to Scripture: The History of the Bible.” To find out more and plan your visit, go to sau.is/archaeology.
This new exhibit-never before displayed publicly-will feature rare, original Bibles including a copy of the 1611 King James Version, the Vulgate, and a translation by Martin Luther. The exhibit will explore the history of the alphabet, the transition from scrolls to books, and the role of the written word-particularly the Bible-during the period of the Reformation and beyond.
In this video, the museum’s curator, Michael G. Hasel, PhD, previews a first edition King James Version Bible, which will be on display. It was published in England in 1611 and is one of only 160 complete first edition King James Version Bibles available today.

The speaker failed to mention the KJV bible of 1611 contained 80 books not 66. Fourteen apocrypha books were removed in 1885.

The speaker failed to mention the KJV "borrowed" 85% of its New Testament translation from William Tyndales already published Geneva Bible in 1599. It's in the history books.

@@abc-hm7le I want to clarify, this is not to come across as aggressive. 1. "Mostly added later" does not mean entirely, and is based on assumption. "not found in majority byzantine manuscripts", if so, this does not mean certain words do or do not belong there or here. 2. "The original text". No one has proven to have the original text of any ancient text. To use phrases such as "original", is dishonest. 3. Joseph is not the Father of Jesus, however, he is the parent in the sense of law. Mary is the mother of Jesus, and is the parent in the sense of law and literal or biologically. 4. This is to assume we have the original text to compare to, yet we do not. This goes both ways regarding assumption or faith of what the word should be.

My Bible does not have the added uninspired verses that are in the KJV. Very clear on the virgin birth. But Joseph was the adopted father of Jesus.. The KJV says the parents of Jesus. Also the KJV has Mary calling Joseph the father of Jesus. Also my Bible does not give satan the title belonging to Jesus. Lucifer is a Latin word that should not be in an English translation. It is a world for the planet Venus meaning morning star. Nothing to do with Satan. Jesus is the Morning Star. Also the KJV is still under copyright in the United Kingdom. Also the publishers of the KJV do it for profit or money. Psalm 12 v 6-7 nothing to do with the KJV. But preservation of God's people. Another example of the KJV only cultists quoting scripture out of context.Bottom line the KJV only cultists are liars, hypocrites, false teachers full of double standards.

No one knows how to truly pronounce it. Hebrew has no vowels. The scribes used what is called vowel pointing to let the reader know how to pronounce a word. That pointing has now been lost.

Breathe it. Make the phonetics and it is 3 breaths. It is also a heartbeat. Yee ooov aaaaah. Yhwh you breathe in yee h like ooooov you breathe in with h sounds you breath out and it is aaah you breathe in. It is 3 breaths. The vowels were not needed because the words are phonetic. There is many many ways to pronounce it but from our first breathe to our last we say God's name. It is hard to explain. You can try it for yourself though. Look up heartbeat in the womb and listen to it.

This my second post, someone doesn’t like the truth, or wants anyone else to know either! The Hebrew of OT, and the Greek of the NT are mathematical languages in their nature. It is mathematically impossible for anyone to have written any part of the Bible apart from God! In the same fashion, to show you that God did inspire the translation of the KJB. There is a video that shows how the KJB is mathematically perfect. I will post it separately when you respond since someone doesn’t like the truth!

Of course God is instrumental in writers' pursuit - obviously inspirational but I suppose -as usual- there is no fact-based evidence to add to the mix. @CellularEarthReality-kw7pq That's another you MISINTERPRET. Scripture is clear. Authority rests with the Church not some book that the Church compiled. You follow a book with your interpretation and I follow Jesus Christ and His interpretation. So I'm good. Those who go deep in Scripture and history become Catholic. Thousands of former Protestant ministers have converted to Catholicism, some were biblical scholars. Without the Catholic Church, it's just one person's opinion against another. And we know what Jesus said to do. Matthew 18:17 to listen to the Church.
