Recently, a contractor bulldozed a lot down our street. Our neighborhood is near downtown, and our city is coming up for its 200th anniversary! We always find bottles and other artifacts when digging on our property. I spoke to the contractor and he said he found hundreds of bottles and put the best of them in a pile and to take whatever I wanted. I walked out of there with about a dozen embossed 100+ year old bottles, a clay cream pot and a light bulb that survived, which I gave to a local electric supply store that collects old electrical related pieces. So thankful for the friendly contractor. It's so important to preserve these items. Thanks for the videos, I watch them whenever I can, keep up the great work. Glad you found your keys....now go get a copy made and hide them somewhere...😅

As you are thinking about recycling/upcycling the bottles that are broken top to bottom....that half bottle at 13:11 would make a great spoon rest, pencil holder, trinket tray, or something along those lines.

Your comment about broken bottles and marbles def hit home with me. I lived in Hawaii as a kid and my friends and located a bottle dump behind a bakery. We must've broken more than one hundred OK Baking Soda bottles with our slingshots! And yes, we used marbles as our ammo.

I have asked multiple times about the marbles you have found in the past. Today, I finally got my answer. So excited.
@bonesstones6584Ай бұрын
@sherylmiessner7267 - Hi Sheryl, did you intend to respond to my post on this video?
@sherylmiessner7267Ай бұрын
@@bonesstones6584 I see now how that might be confusing. I had watched the video and saw that Brandon had found the four marbles that day. I have wondered why his finding them was so special for a long time. I have sent in questions about them before but never received a response. I wondered if the glass used to make them came from the bottling companies or what. It was finally explained and several other viewers had similar stories. I never played with marbles or sling shots, but my Mother-in-law told me that back in her childhood she and her friends had and that where her family lived (middle of nowhere Texas) her father would hunt squirrels for dinner with a sling shot. I apologize for the confusion and the rambling response. I was just so excited to finally have an answer to my question I commented on the first comment I saw.
@bonesstones6584Ай бұрын
@sherylmiessner7267 - lol, no worries! I played with marbles as a kid living in Hawaii. I had received a metal detector for Christmas and while searching for "treasure" I discovered, by accident, that if I pulled the grass back from the edge of the sidewalk in front of our house, there were lots and lots of marbles, long lost by the kids who lived there long ago. I also discovered numerous coins just by pulling the grass away from the edge of the sidewalk. We lived on a military base (Fort Shafter, Oahu) and as a kid, I could go just about anywhere I wanted, for the most part...
