I meet up with Dan (Florida Fishing Couple) and test out his new high speed trolling gear. We catch more mahi than I could count but at the end of the day this ends with a Yellow Jack catch n cook.

In this video:
I get to Dans house super early around 5am and there is a full moon. We have some coffee and then run through Adams Cut here in Key Largo and make our way offshore.
We plan to high speed troll for Wahoo until about 9am and at that point we will move over to trolling feathers and ballyhoo. When high speed trolling we were doing about 14-17knots and when trolling the feathers and ballyhoo we were doing about 4-6knots.
Not much luck with high speed trolling but then we start to hook into a ton of mahi. All of them were peanuts but man they were everywhere! We must have caught 15-20 small mahi.
After trolling for several hours we do some vertical jigging and both Dan and I hookup. Dan managed to land a nice Yellow Jack and I was already excited for the catch and cook because I already know I love yellow jack. Oh yea!
If you have never did a catch n cook with a yellow jack I highly recommend keeping the next yellow jack you catch and throw it on the grill. Yellow Jack also is great in fish tip.
Thank you for tuning into this high speed trolling episode and I hope you enjoyed the yellow jack catch n cook even thou I messed up the recipe a bit, but I'll get it next time. Cheers everyone!

The weeds were what did us in that day but, we made it productive anyway. Always enjoy fishing together - look forward to our next Wahoo hunt; no doubt we will be successful sooner or later. Great video Heiko - as always! -D

It's kinda funny that Asian car manufacturers also make A LOT of fishing gear, as well as garden equipment. I don't have a Porsche or Lamborghini reel.Only Asian or Norwegian ones. Those Scandinavian ones are also very, very good, as well as their rods. I bought them in Norway self. Not cheap, but very good.

Got my first big yellowjack on monday while reef fishing. Sent down a small yellowtail(tip I got from a local guide) and i got straight destroyed in under 5 seconds on the bottom. 80' of water and 40 lb leader on a fish finder. Highly recommend it, but the bloodline is gnarly

The sauce is made by melting a lump of butter, then mixing it with some flour then adding the milk, stirring all the time. Maybe you broiled the fish in the milk separate to making the sauce? For cheese sauce, just add grated cheese at the end before pouring over the meal.

a trick for wahoo while trolling, is when your going drive in a zigzag pattern. Doing this will make the bait disapear in the wake for a short period of time and that's when the wahoo strike.

Just as others have mentioned, it does need a dab of oil before you use it kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e - put a few drops in through the convenient screw cap and you are good to go! I have fished several weeks with a couple of these, and I will be getting more in the future. I put these against my Abu Garcia Pro Max reel, and they actually perform a bit better than the Abu with some of my lighter cranks, and definitely just as good with the rest of my lures. My Abu is a bit more low profile and fits my hand better, but these are definitely not bad at all. You can almost get 3 of these for the price of my Pro Max. My only complaint is the thumb bar sits pretty high compared to my traditional profile Abu. Bring that thumb bar down a little and I’m sold on these all day long.
