The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel kzbin.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

I'm not your mother but i want to put you on restriction!! Ahhh hahaha, kieko, PLEASE be careful, I'm a middle aged female, owner of my 3rd boat and I just adore you. I just LOVE your charisma and enthusiasm, that sail fish had to taste delicious. Keep those videos coming. Knife brand that (Deer meat for dinner) uses is Silver Stag. Ck it out, Robert Arrington can hook you up. You are a beautiful spirit.

My first thought when you had that Swordfish at the surface was that you'd better be ready for it to decide to joyride underneath the boat haha. Even being an Oregonian, I know the risky business of trying to land a super strong and high energy fish like a Sword, Sail or Marlin, whether it's by oneself or with another person. Some of the most feisty and strong fish out there. Congrats on achieving one of the most difficult things to do by yourself fishing!
@Fishermanjuice226 жыл бұрын
Congratu-f-in-lations!! AWESOME! It’s a big risk to take going out 30 miles, to deep drop somewhere you’ve never been, to try and catch a fish you’ve never caught, without someone who has done it along with you to show you how it’s done, and you were successful!!! You could have burned a lot of gas, lost a big sinker, and lost a whole day for nothing. But you got what you were after! Way to go!

Please take this advice as constructive. First congrats on the fish but please learn more about sword fishing before you attempt again especially going by yourself. If that fish would have been any size you could have seriously been injured with all that line in the boat around your hands and feet. Don’t ever grab a sword bill with your bare hand while bringing it the boat. There are great videos from Boobytrap, RJ Boyle and others on how to do it the safe and proper way. Again congrats and be careful out there because it only takes a second to change your life.

Great video! Really enjoying your content, just subscribed. A couple tips, use a wind on leader, so you can reel fish to the rod tip. Leadering any sword fish would make me nervous. Please be safe. As others have said, if that were a big nasty, you would want a harpoon with a basket of rope, and a much larger beefier gaff. Also when dropping keep the boat in gear, it's a bit more complicated than that but it will help reduce tangles. Good luck
@PurposePlastics6 жыл бұрын
When using a windon you still crimp your bait and about 5ft of mono to the end of it. The trick becomes unclipping the weight as it comes up, so you can reel the rest of the way. Hope it helps a little

Is there gas in that can near the battery ? Maybe I'm just too cautious if theres such a thing lol. Scott Martin just had a video in which his batteries caught on fire.
