I have a Dodge Dakota that had the exact same problem. Manifold to pipe broke loose. Manifold bolt holes were broken on one side. I went to Orileys to find a solution and they had no idea what to do about it. So I came home and started going thru your videos and found the split flange video. Exactly what I needed. You even had the part number so I screen shotted it and showed them at Orielys. They got it the next day and I fixed it myself in the driveway! I really do appreciate how you show everything and explain it. We need you in Kentucky 🤪 Thank you and keep up the good videos. God Bless!

Eric, I really appreciate the fact that you do excellent work while at the same time maintain a realistic attitude when it comes to overall vehicle condition and customer wishes. You're a credit to your trade. Not everyone can/will rebuild their vehicle. Many just need it to keep running for a while. You've got a big heart and a ton of common sense. Thank you for what you do.

I love watching these old videos. LOL! Hoping it will help us speed up the evolution of our channel, but they are neat to watch you being "more formal". My brother ran over a propane tank once! That's arguably harder than a ladder I think. Ironically, the truck was fine, but every time we go to get the propane tank filled they tell us "this is the last time we are gonna fill this" (because of the damage).
@klwthe3rd7 жыл бұрын
I didnt realize those flanges existed. And I would have never thought to call Walker to inquiry about it either. Great insight Eric O. In this case it was totally feasible and smart to use that clamp. Doing right by the customer is the SMA motto!

Bahaha, Hey if you come outta hibernation and head south you watch it coming through NY, I guess you just never know when you may run over a ladder... When I talked to her the story I got was she hit it in her driveway and it blew the tire so she has the spare on it now and the exhaust has been getting louder for a while she tells me... like 6 months. very impressed with videos and checked to see if your shop is local, its not. been a mechanic long time but still learning, 70 now. presently running 2010 dodge dakota 4.7 truck. only thing different from stock is magnaflo exhaust from cat back 5 years ago. check engine code 2098 came on although runs well. put blower into exhaust from tailpipe and sprayed soap mixture over all connections. finding front connection just behind cat leaking and fixed, still 2098 code. checked all induction for problems, none found. replaced o2 sensor downstream of cat with mopar sensor, still 2098. i don't have knowledge or possesion of test equipment. i hate losing a fight. before bring to a shop checking wiring for its integrity is my next, any suggestions anyone.

hey ERIC I, done one off those a month ago and was a good fix as yours but there were no code. Question though same engine new battery when engine on battery volt 14.5 V engine off voltage in the dash when is specially cold goes to 10.5 and check gages light comes on but the car start fine and I done ACC the test says good battery and starting system. Always enjoy ur video and thx for sharing.
@SouthMainAuto10 жыл бұрын
So your saying KOEO the check gauge light comes on and the dash voltage says 10.5 is that right? But running it is a ok?
@jgeorges306110 жыл бұрын
NO,I am saying KOEOF the dash voltage goes to 10.5 and the check gauge light comes on but it start and runs ok and when start the battery voltage stays on 14.5 and thx for the fast reply.
@SouthMainAuto10 жыл бұрын
Oh if KOEO the dash gauge goes down and the "check gauges" light comes on (which it should always KOEO) and starts fine with no troubles, no lights I would suspect you are OK. If you are relying on the dash gauge for accuracy, don't. If you suspect a problem to to break out the real DVOM and do a little testing.
@jarinwilson953910 жыл бұрын
j georges The voltmeter reads 10.5volts, check gauge light illuminates. There is a main battery feed going to the Integrated Power Module(fancy name for a power distribution or fuse box) What I have seen in the past is that someone over tightened the nut on the stud and now the stud actually turns inside the fuse box(connection problem, especially with the vehicle moving. An intermittent voltage drop can easily cause the symptoms you are describing. Keep in mind, I saw this freaking years ago, so my memory may be a little "dusty" I hope that helps

when a car has a maf sensor and its running lean most of the time you can clean the maf sensor. but what can you do for a car that uses a map sensor? does the map control fuel trims??
@SouthMainAuto10 жыл бұрын
MAP is just one of the inputs that is used to help calculate the fuel trim. Hope I said that right. The PCM is actually what calculates fuel trim based on inputs from 02 mostly. The 02's are the real key players that tell the story as to weather or not it is rich or lean.
