Nice one, I was fully caught up in the visceral anger, being a father of young daughters myself. I had no Idea Rwanda was a Christian country and it would have taken about 3 seconds to check. It doesn't make the event any less disturbing but it does remove the fear that there is a group of people out there who have started actively trying to murder my children.

The 'documentary' being about the other time he was arrested for dangerously pointing the finger at the wrong person before. Thanks for the comments, Jim. Horrendous situation. My heart goes out to the bereaved and the traumatised, especially the parents and the kids. Totally agree with your assessment of the building pressure in the UK since Brexit. Although the roots of the working class disaffection definitely run a lot deeper and responsibility is seldom put at the door of the architects of the miseries. Those who have profited most and staked the least have installed the blue and red governments - both corporate tools despite a few superficial differences in rhetoric. Sadly, in these situations the extremist opportunists gain immeasurably in political and (even) financial capital by stirring up fear, hate and misdirected momentum. The ones who do the suffering are the powerless. The powerful skew any responses to give themselves greater authority and protections.

Social media censorship is a tough call. If a platform is too responsive to calls to close down information, then a platform tends to overreach and shuts down legitimate speech. Participants will learn how to game the censorship system to shut down opposition speech. If a platform isn't aggressive enough, events have a way of spinning out of control. I would not want to be the person making these calls.

Come now, everyone loves a good race riot(this is sarcasm; if you understood that then don't worry this disclaimer wasn't for you.) They want to reaffirm their bigotry, their scapegoat, and justify their desire for violence. Some of them wish to replace those above them in your British caste system and they can't. I know, I know, referring to the British caste system is saying the quiet part out loud. Also, I do understand what a flood of desperate labor does to the economic prospects of the existing group living by those jobs. That is a difficult problem because the real solutions require government and private enterprise to protect workers. Some of the rioters and "writers" resent their own economic and societal marginalization and the hand extended to others. (Raising everyone on the bottom to parity takes away the joy of superiority of those next to the bottom.) Some people are dangerous but that is fairly even across the board regardless of race religion or creed.

They don't want these jobs, and we can't fill them. The depressive effect of immigrant labour is extremely minimal. They believe that stuff, but it's not that true - at least here.

I alas should keep my comments somewhat brief and general, as I live in the states, and know very little of the intricacy of British politics. I mean, you people still have a king, so I don't even know where to begin there. LOL!!! Seriously, though, I do think you are a little too over zealous with the harm principal, but then again, I'm willing to sacrifice false advertizing restrictions, just to keep the government from being arbitor of facts, so take that for what it's worth. I think what you just did here is the appropriate way to counter misinformation, and probably the most effective long term. Censoring others just makes them feel justified, as I'm sure you felt when censored for calling someone a muppet. By the way, why you gotta insult the Muppets by comparing them to racists. I'll never understand. LOL!!! I'm sorry, I really shouldn't joke at a time like this, but with how bad of an event this is, yeah, it might be a Monday for us Americans, but loss of life is still sad, and riots help no one. Hold the rioters accountable, definitely. Let those who might be having a peaceful protest do their thing. They aren't helping, but I suppose they should be allowed to complain. Finally, keep doing what you're doing. If everything is as you say it is, then let the sunlight of truth chase away these shadows.
