Southwest Airlines 737-800 Sunny Landing in Fort Lauderdale (FLL)

Florida airports are quickly becoming some of my favorites to fly into. Being my first visit to FLL I geeked out big time. The descent over the gulf coast for landing in Fort Lauderdale offered a great view of the central Florida gulf coast and the Big Cypress National Preserve. While most of the Florida airports themselves do not impress me a whole lot, the approaches and departures more than make up for it and warrant future trips.

What's really cool is the shadow of the plane on the ground starting at around 7:50. This gives you a perspective of just how fast the plane is going by the speed the shadow on the ground.

T-minus 10 days! Going back “home”!!! I love this landing, cry during takeoff! DMV vs FLL ….. need to be down more like I used to. Every other month is gonna increase to every other weekend

Figured I would check this out. Flying from Columbus Ohio currently 26 degrees to Fort Lauderdale 76 degrees in 2 hours 35 minutes lol. Love Flying ❤

Enjoy the flight! When I go to Fort Lauderdale (or Miami for that matter) it’s been in winter and I’ve made the mistake of dressing for the cool/cold in Dallas and walking out to the lovely south Florida warmth and humidity. Last year I went to Miami right after thanksgiving and was miserable in an 86° Miami. Lol.

very nice! being a fairly new aircraft it hasn’t developed as many rattles and creaks as the 4+ year old aircraft. Hope they don’t change the equipment schedule like they famously do.
