Just because judges let them go on - doesn't mean that the judges are persuaded. In fact, considering how ridiculous their claims, the judge probably wants as much of their nonsense on the record as possible. It makes the eventual ruling so much easier - and the defendant can't claim they didn't have due process. Everyone gets their day in court - if they want to waste it? Well....

Regardless, even in civil court these types are treated with kid gloves as the host states. I think it’s because judges often want to make the effort to show the sov cit they are being treated fairly, more fairly than they should be. It seems to be a futile effort every time, but no one who studies or has a fair understanding of the law can say they weren’t treated fairly.

This is really simple stuff. If you sign a contract you are legally bound to what is on it. The meeting of the minds, or the understanding of the deal is framed on that document. You quit paying they reposes.

Mike, question…. I was under the impression that judges generally tried very hard to make their rulings as appeal proof as possible, is that correct? Then if that is the case, isn’t this judge really opening himself up to a lot of issues by writing this BS into an order? Everyone knows these documents are worthless everywhere in North America, and probably the entire world, most would have thrown those worthless pieces of paper away; even these potato defendants would throw them away if someone tried to pay them in the same way. He’s creating a potential s-storm when the credit union says they don’t have them. Would the entire ruling get held up further because of this? Something that has nothing to do with the original contract, was NOT included in any proceedings before the court? The defendant may as well have asked for an original Micky Mouse trading card… same useless value and same ability to produce. I’m with you, this was frustrating to watch; even our legal system is bending to these weirdos so they “don’t offend” them. That’s a real slippery slope!! 🤦🏼‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I was thinking the same thing. That they will hide the trailer and say the dealership did not uphold their part of the judgement and they don't have to return the trailer or pay anything until the papers are returned. And yeah, the defendant knows no one deals with this sort of payment and they wouldn't take the same in any work they did.

@@kirielbranson4843 My guess is that the court order will enable the bank to get from the clerk of court a writ of replevin, without regard to anything else in the order, unless the judge says the writ can't be issued until the bank returns the papers. He won't do that. With a writ, the bank can repossess the trailer. In some states -- I don't know if Washington is among them -- hiding the trailer is a criminal act. Yes, these creepy tards may try some funny stuff, but I think it will only be a nuisance, not successful in retaining the trailer. As far as getting their papers back, how are they going to execute on the court's order? People are generally unaware that the order of a court is only preliminary to collection. In this case, assuming the bank doesn't have the papers, the deadbeats will not get anything like a writ to have them seized. All they will be able to do is go back to the judge and ask for a citation for contempt. There will be a hearing on that and the bank will say the papers are lost and they will happily indemnify the couple for the loss, just as soon as they show that it is a loss. And that will be the end of that.

Dear defendants: howsabout you pay your bills or surrender in a timely fashion the property for which you refuse to pay? That might well keep your scary SS numbers from flying around in the ether in the first place. Just a thought for next time. While I'm up here on my soapbox, I'll add that I, too, am disappointed by this judge's reaction to these little smugsters. The judges and magistrates who see the need to and have the skills to shut these folks down right away have my admiration ... and thanks.
