We've lived in a house as renters and we received a letter from a realtor on our door that said our property was being sold and they would be showing our house the next day to the new buyer. I was shocked that our landlord would sell without talking to us first. I called him immediately and he said absolutely not. Come to find out some Sov. Sit. was trying to steal the property and "sell" it to one of their family members using his mom's "realtor" company. Luckily we were able to stop them from taking possession of the property. The audacity of people to steal a house from someone who worked their butts off to buy it is crazy.

What difference does that make?? So they inherited it from someone else who legally purchased it, so what? 🤷🏼‍♀️ If my sons inherit properties that my husband and I purchased (which they will) does that mean they are any less entitled to them? Should some sovtard be able to swoop in and steal in simply because they didn’t buy it but they inherited it?? Nope.@@ScreamingDucksShotMyMother

Listen, one day I paid this person for the deed to the property, then later I transferred the deed back to her in exchange for money. It doesn't matter that she never bought the property from its owner all that matters is that we exchanged money between ourselves for what we are claiming is the deed to the property. The fact we created a paper trail of this highly illegal transaction means its legit and the original actual owner of the property doesn't get a say in the matter... Also we may be involved in massive fraud.

I had a rental that as I evicted the tenant for non payment, they allowed a stranger (to me) to move in and claim they lived there. The police would not call it a trespass even though I had never met the “occupants”. So I found a couple of “very nice” very large gentleman and legally “leased” the premises to them for two weeks. The moved in immediately, much to the discontent of the other “tenants”. I explained they had no written lease and no proof of “exclusive” residency or possession. Again the police said “civil issue”. After a few hours of the new tenants hitting on the guys wife and eating and drinking everything in the house. A few times telling the old “tenant” to shut the F up” unless they wanted a beating. Sleeping on the couch and in their bed. For some reason, the unknown tenants decided to leave on their own. That must of upset the new tenants because they moved out too, the next day. A couple hundred dollars was cheaper than court, unpaid rents and possible trashing of the unit.

In sounds like this case is about someone who was legally living in the house, under a lease or tenancy agreement; their lease is up and and now the landlord wants them out (the court records say this is a "termination of tenancy" action). However, they're fighting the eviction with mumbo-jumbo. This is a company suing ex-tenants, not an individual who just came home and found strangers in the house. (Even in that case, however, the police may not be able to do much if the strangers claim to be tenants and show a lease. The police aren't going to summarily evict somebody who might really be a legal tenant, no matter how unlikely it seems, until the courts rule on the legality of the "lease.")

It seems the judge’s SovCit alarm sounded when she asked Mr. Wiley the incredibly simple question: “When did you buy the property?”. I've often considered if there may be some resolution to this sort of problem by creating a civil fund, via some form of general taxation, that could be utilized to compensate individuals who are forced to spend money on attorneys, etc, when they're scammed by idiots like this. There's probably many factors to consider. Like it would have to be done in a way that wouldn't make Sovcits feel invincible or absolved from personal responsibility. There has to be a balance though between Sovcits personally being liable, and their victims actually being able to get compensated.

There are many videos out there where the SovCits just take possession of a house that is not occupied and claim ownership through many and various fraudulent documents that they file with the county and the courts. The legitimate owner is shocked when they go to their property only to find a family living in their house claiming to be the legal owners. It takes sometimes years to get it sorted out in court and get the "squatters" physically evicted, not to mention the thousands of dollars spent by the legitimate owner. You see this often with vacation homes, or homes that have been inherited and are not occupied. I feel it is unfair and criminal that these squatters get away with this without some form of penalty or jail time.

Michigan has some of the worst owner, tenant laws in the universe. 5 or 6 years ago I bought a few properties there and was traveling from Colorado to Michigan every month while fixing the homes up. On month I arrived at my property and found people had kicked in the door and were living there. I went to the police station to report a break in and was told that I had to take the people to court(a 4 month process) in order to get them out. I explained that these people broke into my house and never had a lease and I was told " I know, you have to take them to court!!" I ended up paying the people to leave, put an alarm on the house and sold every piece of property that I owned in that state!!!
@coladict

So the guy just declared eminent domain and claimed the house as if he gets to do that? I'm surprised the judge didn't convict him of fraud then and there by his own admission.

Loved this case Mike. "Sovereign Citizen runs smack dab into reality"! I do have a question about what you said about service to any adult. Wouldn't there have to be a relationship or acknowledgement by that adult to know the person? I am asking because a process server once came to my door to serve someone I didn't know period and I told him that. We built our home on empty land we purchased so no one ever lived here before. I had no idea who he was talking about.

Damn, I'm used to listening to nonsense terms and misuse of words from sovereign citizens, but that was next level, borderline schizophrenic level word salad - lots of words that have meanings but put together in a way that doesn't make any sense for those of us living in the real world. Judge did a great job, but I really feel for the property owners who have to deal with this crap.

This episode is symptomatic of the loss of respect for expertise. We see this in the flat Earth conversation all the time. The defendants have limited education and a false sense of their knowledge of the law gained from a cursory review of sovcit websites that abetted their confirmation bias. Taking the most charitable view, they walk into the lion’s den and, like a flat earther trying to tell an astrophysicist the latter doesn’t know what they’re talking about, they run face first into expertise…and are left dumbfounded. It’s just Dunning-Krueger. They know the form, but not the substance. “We can seize a house using eminent domain if the government can do it!” So they file paperwork. Then they see the bright light on the horizon: it’s the reality train and they’re about to get run over.
