I wish I could send our judges to Michigan to give sovcit response classes. Here, when they challenge jurisdiction, they are told that they will have to address that to the appeals court. If they start interrupting with ANY motion that has been addressed, they are told that if they cannot conduct themselves within the court rules, they will not be permitted to represent themselves. When they start the "I do not understand" routine, they are informed that if they are unable to understand the basic statements of the court, then they are not competent to represent themselves. The second "I do not understand" on an already repeated matter and the judge will then advise them that with their repeated inability to understand the proceedings, they will not be permitted to represent themselves, and an attorney is appointed to represent them. If they become disruptive, they are informed that if they persist, they will be moved to an adjoining room where they can observe the proceedings, and if they become disruptive their microphone will be turned off, until they can conduct themselves appropriately. That is it. Each proceeding, and each session during a day, they are given an opportunity to return to the courtroom, and admonished that any disruption will result in them being removed for the rest of that session. PERIOD. I guess it would be boring for youtube, but it makes our courts move along very well.
