Williams is no longer in Hawaii. He’s now back in South Florida, here at the Federal Detention Center in Miami, but before he can even begin to serve his 20-year federal sentence, which he’s already appealed, he must first finish a 15-year sentence in a state grand theft case.

@@CAUSELESSREBEL Yeah its this nonsense where they use catch phrases or pithy language to: 1. Make themselves feel super smart, and 2. to conflate the language into this nonsense and tell themselves the judge is ignorant of the law. Its the same this they do with the word "understand" and they say, "I DONT STAND UNDER ANYTHING"...they think its a gotcha question/moment, when what it is to anyone with half a brain is just dumb.

Former court recorder here. I have seen a judge "establish jurisdiction" before. The judged asked if the defendant was located in the state, defendant responded 'yes'. Then the judge asked if the defendant if he was in city limits, defendant responded 'yes'. The judge then ruled the court had jurisdiction and continued with the hearing. The defendant/sovereign citizen was speechless and it was hilarious.

In the UK I heard (though the reference may only be historical), that if the lawyer was not properly dressed, or otherwise not recognisable for other reason, the judge would say 'I cannot see you.' I bet this judge wishes he never saw him that day.
@seraphinaaizen6278
@seraphinaaizen6278 3 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's true; or at least it's not true anymore if it once was. I suspect it could also lead to a host of issues regarding a fair trial if the judge were to ignore a person's lawyer because of what they were wearing. If a judge wasn't clear who was who, then they would ask the clerk of the court to identify those in the court room. Although it's certainly true that a person turning up to a court in inappropriate clothing could get into just as much trouble as someone in the US.
@johnmorgan1629
@johnmorgan1629 3 жыл бұрын
@@seraphinaaizen6278 A juror in the UK was dismissed for wearing a FCUK (French Connection clothing) t-shirt in court once as it offended the court. Barristers in UK courts at one time, were required to wear gowns and wigs. Though this depended upon the hearing, more recently, I have attended court in the UK and seen the judge and barrister in suit rather than robes. Even the Supreme Court (UK), in coverage aired on TV can be seen in suits. Don't forget that historically speaking, there were few protections for the poor or common people in the UK. Even stealing food, for your family when starving could see you transported to the US, to be sold into servitude, then the convicted were later transported to Australia.
@ArslanAkram192
@ArslanAkram192 3 жыл бұрын
@@seraphinaaizen6278 This is true. Historically, an improperly dressed (without robes or wig) barrister could not address a court. It would refuse to acknowledge his presence. (Just to be clear, we are talking of centuries gone by here.) Until very recently this was true for solicitors as well. Despite being qualified lawyers they had no rights of audience and the court would not recognise them.

No matter how old this court appearance may be, it is soooo much fun to watch seriously ridiculous stupid. It is unfortunate that such idiots are not charged, in some way, for wasting the court's time.

You’ll often discover American flags with gold fringe in courtrooms throughout the United States. However, that doesn’t mean the gold fringe designates Admiralty courts. There have been lawsuits filed in the past claiming the gold fringe designates Admiralty courts, but all of these lawsuits have been shot down. The bottom line is that, officially, gold fringe on the American flag doesn’t indicate anything. It’s simply a decorative feature that can either be added to the American flag or left off. It was originally used by the U.S. Army, though you can now find gold-fringed American flags elsewhere.

Judge should have introduced Williams to your bailiff, given a nice gift bracelet set & given the grand "behind the scenes" tour, plus a free multi-nights accommodations with comp'd fine dining.

And what is especially sad is that despite repeatedly losing he never wised up. He never even considered that he was wrong, or that he should change his strategy. If you do something over and over for 10 years and it never worked, it's insane to keep on doing it.

I first heard about this from a friend /neighbor probably 1995. He told me that the IRS was not real and that "paying taxs was voluntary". He also told me he had not paid his in a few years.. I talked to my aunt (who is an attorney in Michigan) and she said "DO NOT listen to that! You WILL end up in jail!" Well interesting that all of a sudden he vanished, he didn't even say good bye to me.... I wonder where he went?
