I may not be a sovereign citizen, but I am a sauvignon citizen. That means I’m full bodied with a peppery finish, and if a police officer so much as approaches me there’s a 90 percent chance I’m getting tased. As a sauvignon citizen I may not be a member of the United States, but I do have a piece of paper I bought off the internet that identifies me as grown in the Bordeaux region of France where the nights chill leaves the thinnest layer of frost, perfect for the dark red fruity notes I’m known for. Also if anyone asks me for my driver’s license I’ll spray blood out of my eyes like a horned lizard and continue doing whatever it was that requires a driver's license. Nobody can stop me until I’ve achieved my goal of becoming entirely sauvignon. The sauvignon code says “no country, no king, medium-high tannins” and those are words I will defend no matter how many times I need to replace my windows or see my car impounded because the license plate is just a piece of paper that reads PRIVATE RESERVE. One day this country will finally wake up and realize that the government doesn’t exist, and police aren’t allowed to arrest you until you’ve decanted for at least an hour. Also as a sauvignon citizen my appearance on To Catch a Predator is not legally binding in any way, nor are the forged checks that multiple state counties that I don't recognize are out to get me for without my consent.

I used to work for a bank. I would get calls from customers claiming sovereignty, requesting (quite politely, I will say) that the bank withdraw their outstanding mortgage payments, taxes and insurance from their "special trust deposit". It was always a customer service challenge when ever I took one of these calls. Long story short, the bank foreclosed on a lot of 'domiciles' of 'sovereign' customers who stopped making their mortgage payments.

I remember seeing a video of a sovereign citizen. She got pulled over, and the cop asked her for her id. It went like this: Cop "I need to see your id." Lady "I don't need an id. You don't have the right to ask me that" Cop "... if you are driving you need an id. Please get out your id thank you. Lady "I am not driving I am traveling" Cop "... you ARE driving. All US citizens need proper identification for driving." Lady "I am not a United States citizen I am a citizen of the FREE EARTH." Cop "...... 🤨" Lady "You do not have the right to arrest me I am not giving you consent to arrest me!" After watching this I stood in a corner facing the wall wondering what the world has come to.

That’s an unprofessional Sovereign. Years ago I stopped a vehicle which was displaying an unauthorised licence plate. Much effort had gone into the construction of the plate as it even had an embossed sovereign citizen cvoat of arms on it. As part of the action I took I seized the licence plates & also arrested the sovereign who assaulted me whilst trying to take his fraudulent property back. It was very exciting stuff 😂 A few weeks later I was served with a PILE of paperwork indicating that I had been convicted in a Sovereign Courts ‘sentenced to life in prison for the grand larceny (of the licence plate). The paperwork suggested I handed myself in immediately to prevent further punishment. 😮 A few weeks later the sovereign failed to appear at court & a warrant was issued for his arrest. I couldn’t help myself, armed with the warrant I attended the property where the sovereign resided. Upon arrival I was greeted with a large fence & a sign stating that entry into the property required a valid passport & visa (as apparently I was entering a different country). There was an intercom, security camera the gate was bolted with lock & chain. I rang the intercom but there was no response BUT I noted security cameras were panning in my direction so in order to affect the warrant I removed my trusty bolt cutters & breached the gates security. I then drove onto the property & proceeded along the driveway towards the homestead. About 3/4’s of the way I was confronted by a “small army” of folks dressed In quasi military uniform & the sovereign was leading them. The sovereign commanded his troops to arrest me & take me to cells 🙄 After a short standoff of perhaps 3 seconds, I placed the sovereign into handcuffs & conveyed him back to the Police Station where he was prepped for appearance directly before the court. Apparently I am still listed as a fugitive in his world 🤣

@@pinkishdiamondz What you are not getting is that because I and every other sovereign now understand our god given rights, if you harm us after we tell you we do not consent, the person harming us and everyone else condoning it are now karmically responsible for the harm. Do you think we don't know that police can shoot and kill us? Or you putting us in a cage because we didn't do what you say Lol of course we do. We are just leaving it up to a higher power to take care of your control freak ass lol be it god universe karma or whatever external forces are out there. Our job is just to not comply in order to make it lawfully binding for you guys to face consequences. If we don't express our lack of consent, then you will not be lawfully liable for your harm. So our job is let you know, hey man I don't want to participate in your games, leave me alone. If you and your government dogs (cops) still try to harm us then the karma is on you and you have to deal with that. When we say the government doesn't have jurisdiction on us and it doesn't have authority, we do not mean it can't use its dogs to hurt us lmao we know they can hurt us, arrest us, and put us in cages in the physical realm, what we are saying is IN SPITE OF THIS, they still do not have authority on my mind or spirit. They use the term more as a reference to "natural law", which can be defined as rules of behavior that arise out of the general nature of people living together -- like theft, robbery, murder, trespassing, etc. all being illegal under natural law theory. The problem is that natural law theory is not a workable legal system, and like most natural law theorists, it becomes a proxy for "what I don't like is illegal because reasons". They don't make the distinction that the legal system does. They see "common" law as meaning "the law that applies to everyone regardless of which country they're in" and not the English system of judge-made law that takes past appellate decisions as a living and evolving legal system.

You wouldnt think Todd is smart if you actually did you research on anything he said, to be true at all. There are radical sides to everything. The real research person does not claim to be a Sovereign, but uses law and constitution to win their cases. Every human on earth is born a Sovereign, but Government will not inform anyone of their true rights directly. Unalienable rights and freedoms are sovereignty. Unalienable rights is a lawful term that does work in a court of law, and the US Government acknowledges all people with unalienable rights and freedoms. SEE: Title 18 U.S.C. § 241, 242.

@@jaker1160 In 1998, an attorney at Cornell U published a website called "Idiot Legal Arguments" that had specific case law citations covering hundreds of bullshit legal claims these people use- like "income tax is unconstitutional" or the whole gold-fringed flag and "i don't need a driver's license" nonsense. In other words, it was "old news" 32 years ago. I think the SPLC has it tracked as far back as the 1950's, though people weren't calling it "sovereign citizen" back then. When it's harmless, it's kind of funny -- a great example of "cargo culting", where "we have no idea what any of this actually means, but if we do the same dance and sing the same songs as the people who do, we'll get the same blessings they get" -- whether it's building an airport and fake planes out of bamboo or throwing legal-sounding words together randomly.

He has all his paperwork printed out. He has been in and out of court and representing himself with that crap. I agree with you Dr Grande, they need to believe this delusion and their 'birthright' stacks of cash cause of all the crimes they commit. I dont believe everyone who lives like this is that extreme cause most of them have spouses and kids and the 'Believer' will force them to live this way, so they're just doing what they're told. But those that truly believe this craziness they are just gone. Hope the innocent bystanders are able to escape that life. Oh and he is a big time scam artist. Anything to make a quick buck.

I know this seems long, but I think all of this adds up to the main point. I hope I'm not wasting your time! I have a friend who claims to be a sovereign citizen (and this is so sad because she's gone so far down the rabbit hole with that, anti-vax stuff, and so on, that I can barely talk to her anymore). I found your video because this has led to me doing research on the topic. I also have a friend that I watched go down another conspiracy theory rabbit hole. He is quite intelligent but has started to believe in the anti-Federal Reserve conspiracies and believes that there will be an impending social collapse. Also, since I live in central Virginia, I have often run into "Flaggers," people who are making a big push about the Confederate flags. (They're the ones who paid for land near I-95, bought a flag pole, and put up a "stars and bars" and only when they raised it did they realize their pole was not even as tall as the surrounding trees, so nobody could see it!) One of the last conversations with this friend (who was now working as a contractor for the very Fed he distrusts!) went toward his beliefs and he said, "In fact, I know people who are not just preparing for the collapse -- " and, at this point his voice started showing strong excitement " -- They're looking forward to it!" I've spent time working in residential treatment with teens and I'm used to extreme issues, even with dealing with students who can be a physical danger to me. But that unsettled me to the point I did not want to spend a lot of time with him after that - even on the phone. I asked him what will start the collapse and he said, "When the willing poor no longer get their handouts, they'll rise up and overthrow the civilization." He didn't care that, as a teacher in residential treatment, and who has worked in low income areas in "normal" schools, I had never seen anything indicating that. I may be WAY off on this, but I think that people with conspiracy theories do benefit from their beliefs, but not in a physical way. My friend (the survivalist) is a gun lover and runs a business, but it hasn't been doing too well. I think he knows he's intelligent and hard working and believes he should be doing much better than he is in life - and he's not doing too well. It became clear to me (from him and mutual friends) he has a fantasy of society collapsing and he and his family will live on their stocked canned goods and other supplies they've gathered and he'll do okay. The rest of the area will face starvation and serious hardships, but he and his will be okay. In the long run, though, he seems to think he'll be recognized as a leader and be seen as a good man that people want to be in charge of their area. Related to that are the Flaggers I mentioned. They worship the antebellum South. I think, in their heads, they imagine themselves as being in charge solely for the reason that they're white. A lot of these conspiracy groups seem to see themselves as intelligent and hardworking and deserving of recognition. The buy into conspiracies that give them a world they can believe in where they are in the controlling class and others will be looking up to them. It's a good substitute (for them) to actually finding a way to rise beyond middle management and gain recognition in work or personal life.

Valerie Rodger It is utterly confounding. In Australia, our constitution and legal system are referred to as being derived from a 'Washminster' perspective - a made up word consisting of Washington and Westminster in England. That is - at Federation, the government took inspiration from the English and American constitutions and laws, essentially a lot of the equality verbiage and ideas) but we aren't subject to US law at all. It just speaks to the lack of understanding these people have about how the law works.

I don’t claim to be a sovereign or sovereign citizen, but I do know some things And there are people who understand the laws so well that they understand that every law frays at the end, like the end of rope So most officers, and even sometimes judges, don’t even know it that well. They call themselves sovereign, not sovereign citizens because they know the laws so well, But more than that, they know details about the law that even the law often times doesn’t know. These are a select, a few people in the world by the way. We’re not talking about these silly burning man people who think they’re sovereign. And if you knew the law, this well as well, you would understand that every law has a loophole where you can win and actually tell the police to go away Or basically get away with anything if you know it that deeply

Hi Dr. Grande! Thank you for another interesting video. This topic is so much like people in Hawaii. We have Native Hawaiians that wish to resume living in sovereignty. Have you ever read about Hawaiian history, and how Hawai’i’s Statehood/monarchy overthrow affected it’s culture and people? I wonder if you would find it interesting and how much you would find it similar to these other sovereign citizens, or if you could find any justification in the way Native Hawaiians feel and act. Being part Hawaiian myself I do empathize with the trauma our elders endured, and practice and appreciate with Native Hawaiian values, culture and language, though I do not support the paranoid behavior and criminal activity... Would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on Hawaiian history (overthrow of the monarchy, statehood, etc.) and how Hawai‘i has evolved/what current issues Hawai‘i has (Hawaiian homestead subsidies, poverty in Hawai’i, meth epidemic, thirty-meter telescope construction, Office of Hawaiian Affairs corruption, are a few to name).

Interesting video about this extremist movement whose followers believe in their right to live above the law. On a fundamental level, it's a clash between their desire for individuality and the expectations of society. It's almost reminiscent of Locke's state of nature. Anyway, it's the first time I've heard of this movement so thanks for another educational video!

ALL PEOPLE BORN ARE CONSIDERED SOVEREIGN. All states in the US are Sovereign. It is NOT a movement, it is established law, but these people that claim being sovereign, were taught from a person that is as radical as TODD GRANDE on his narrative, than person that was taught be a radical sovereign in their narrative. Ignorance is the weakness of humans when they just take someones word for it and live their life in a way that is extreme, rather than being well informed.

Spot on observations! I will add: a lot of under achieved/failed military and LEO seems to gravitate around as well. People who didn’t deploy, got kicked out for shady reasons but never their faults but BOY !! Are they some proud veterans :P

@@JessHull making a compiler is not an extraordinary task. In fact, building a compiler is part of standard Computer Science curriculum, and most CS majors did it at least one. Now, he might be a smart guy and good programmer, but claim that he is "most intelligent" is quite ridiculous. For example simply because there is no international competition between programmers and even criteria what makes a good programmer is not something well defined.

This is occurring right now. People who have always been logical are now swallowed up into the most irrational ideas. How did this happen? Mass brainwashing techniques? Importantly how is this to be turned around?

@@gogo-word the fabric of society is ripping apart. Originally we were promised safety, security, a house with a warm bed, a regular food supply and stable employment. If only we worked hard, we could have all these things. Now all we have is longer working hours and not enough money to have all of the above. Then the unemployed will tell those that have paid employment that they are lucky...but for most the wage is not much more then a pension or it may even be less. It's a crazy making process. People are looking for answers as to why it is so, but it is hard to accept one is so undervalued and discarded like trash. Thus they will accept ideas like this. It's one of the few things that make a bit of sense.

I've been watching sovereign citizens videos and some common phrases I keep hearing are... - It's not a crime if no one was hurt. - We're not driving, we're traveling. - Show me the corpus delicti. They think the law doesn't apply to them, until they show up to court and the Judges are like...Yeah, nah...I don't think so.

Actually, if Todd Grande did any kind of research, he would have presented the real truth of it, which exists under standing law, Constitution and civil rights. Todd Grande lied on almost every subject and suppressed truth in the video, in support of a narrative that enslaves people under corrupt portions of Government that do not want its enslaved citizen to know their rights.
