During the Cold War era powerful armored forces were an important part of the identity of the Red Army. Soviet MBTs were very different from their Western counterparts. While incorporating a lot of bleeding edge technologies like carousel-style autoloaders and composite armor, Soviet designs had a lot of teething problems. In the end, though, Soviet engineers managed to overcome those difficulties and produced the revolutionary T-64A… and the mighty T-80U. Today we’re going to speak about them… as well as other Soviet MBTs!

"relatively slow" **proceeds to outrun an abrams to the capture point** the russian mbts are pretty darn fast as well as the leopards. the abrams is only *slightly* faster, but it performs worse on offroad terrains, allowing the t80 to outaccelerate it and outrun it offroad.

Corrections (From what I heard): 6:16 Russian Vehicles, especially the T80s, aren't relatively slow. Maybe the 64 variants with the diesel, but they still wont really get left behind by a team. 6:23 Russian MBTs have the least steep learning curve of any of the MBTs IMO. If theres one MBT I'd choose to go running face first into the enemy team, itd be the T80U. I suppose learning to hide the ammo carousel, or the sides in general, but this is and will be a necessary skill for any MBT, western or Soviet design, so you cant really say its harder for the soviets. 6:29 Not really a correction, but again, this trait isnt unique to Russian vehicles. Both Western and soviet designs are easy one shots from the side, since usually only the driver is isolated from the turret basket in each design. 6:34 Yes, Russian autoloaders are generally slower. But you have to remember, that is only the case when the western design tank crew is aced. Overall thats it. Things they fail say that are worth mentioning: The soviet MBT line is the only MBT line in the game right now that wont completely halt your entire grinding process since these tanks are generally waaaay cheaper than any of their counterparts. Funny how the T80U is easily the best MBT in the game, yet its the cheapest. "There must be some risk to playing a good vehicle" as I recall gaijin saying. Yeah. That lines up real well.

Although that would be cool, the Chi-I would be utterly useless. It uses the same gun as the I-Go-Ko, but it’s a bigger and slower target. Same goes for the Type 91. It has the same gun as the I-Go-Ko, but again, bigger and easier to kill. Both of those tanks would be pretty impractical but fun additions nonetheless.

The T-50 is the best Soviet tank. The Stalinium front armor and parts of the Stalinium side armor are impenetrable. The T-50 can take the points, take hits and hit back hard. My T-50 was shot at from 2 sides and it ricocheted off all the bullets. With the T-50 it can also happen that I can destroy 5 enemy tanks even though I am shot from the front from several tubes and angles.

It does have its issues, mainly limitations in ammo lengths that have hampered the development of better darts, whereas the classic nato 120s darta can span the entire length of the round (see m829a4) I have heard that the upgraded version on the T14 is supposed to help this issue however.

Current favourite is the T64BV only because i have the Urban Predator camo + some decals which make it look extremely nice. I recently unlocked T80 and i have to say the mobility, both forwards and the slightly better reverse, are a breath of fresh air. Aesthetically i've always liked soviet MBT's the most but playing them is another story, they require more discipline than most western tanks in the game (take STRV122 and Leo2A5 which you can use borderline recklessly without much consequence. Really hoping for the T90A soon, or at least a newer and more powerful version of the T72 to compete with the other 10.7 MBT's

This might seem a weird request request but could you guys redo some air battle voicelines? When you're in battle, watch your friend get destroyed by an enemy aircraft, and on the radio you hear a man calmly say "going down" while plummeting to the ground at 500+ kph while on fire, it just feels like a weird reaction while something like "GOING DOWN MAYDAY MAYDAY PLEASE HELP" seems a bit more realistic and appropriate for the situation

I don't know the odds of this being added but I'd like to see 1: M829A1 Silver Bullet for M1A2 (obviously the M1A1 won't get it for balancing reasons) 2: M1A2 TUSK ERA package with friendly Identification plate on the cheeks (the plate only appears black only in thermals) 3: Models on some aircraft. especially bombers. 4: PBE goes up by one giving 3 PBE's once researched and for stock tanks 1 so they have a fighting chance. 5: A button for thermals to switch from WHOT and BHOT

And people say it's not as good as M1A1 or A2, or Leo 2A5... bullshit, the T-80's in general are quite OP, they are super cheap in comparison, which doesn't make sense, and even if it's slower relatively, it's very fast, it's not like Abrams or Leo are dragsters. The T-80 should either be increased in repair cost, or Leo A5 should be brought down in repair cost, the price is not justified, where T-80U is too good for the price.

You must be bad. Hitting a top tier t-anything dead center on the side will garunteed destroy it. They also all have a very vulnerable fron center plate. You can also hit them anywhere in the turret ring or breach and explode ammo. They're very vulnerable to accurate players.

@@Nikotov3 I can confirm that it doesn't always blow up but yea most of the time it doas I would say there was a time wehn they didn't blow up (there are videos showing that they could take 6 hits in the ammo with out dying ) then they changed it to 100% and recently lowered the blow out chance a tiny bit but it still works 95% of the time

@@Nikotov3 It wont guarantee it, it depends where you shoot in the side. If you hit around driver side from a 45 degree angle, it will probably take it out 80% of the time. If you shoot at 90 degree angle at driver compartment, it wont kill it. If you shoot right under turret, where the carousel is, and if the player uses enough ammo, you have 80% chance to one shot it as well. Other 20% can be fatal damage to crew.

This is unrelated to the video but I have a suggestion that can being the OS2U into the meta, so I saw that I was used as a rescue aircraft to rescue downed pilots and I'm suggesting that when pilots go down on a body of water they can request to be recovered and if you help escort the OS2U within a range of 2km for 1min 30sec and if it gets back to the airfield/port/carrier,everytime the rescued pilot does something,you'll get 3-10% of the profit,this can be useful in any mode that has a large body of water in it (Naval battles for example) Edit:Grammar

I really love the look of Soviet tanks till they go to hemispherical and squashed soup bowl shaped turrets. Basically anything after the early T-54 doesn’t appeal to me. I know they are capable, I just think they’re ugly. 🤷‍♂️

I think it would be really cool if you guys added a bomber escort game mode. You could have like 50 AI bombers being protected by player-controlled escort fighters and attacked by player controlled by interceptors. Success would be determined by the amount of bombs that hit their target and the amount of bombers that make it back. It would look super cool if it didn’t have player markers and used historical aircraft from a specific battle, like P-51Ds and P-47s protecting B-17s and B-24s from BF-109s and FW-190s, or BF-109s protecting HE-111s from Spitfires and Hurricanes. This is usually only possible in events or custom battles, but I think a lot of players would like playing it as an actual mission. Attempt #2
