Beat all the missions except the last one, which required cheats. Beating the 3rd and 4th levels were massively brutal.

triple_12, Yes they freaking were. I used to think DMZ Strike in Nuclear Strike was difficult, but good lord, not as bad as Missions 3, 4, & 5 from Soviet Strike. Though tbf, these games are much easier when you get older.

indiansfever11, I don’t know how old you are but yea I couldn’t really beat any of these missions when I was a kid. Course I wasn’t circle strafing, I didn’t pay attention to my stats, and I wouldn’t take advantage of dropping off locals to replenish my armor, but the older I got the better I got at playing this game. I have beaten every single mission in both Soviet & Nuclear, and I’ve even done most without losing a life as well.

@@indiansfever11 List the steps you take and what led up to losing all 3 lives. The only time-sensitive mission in level 1 is to ensure Nick Arnold and the other 4 POWs aren't executed. One you rescue those 5 (don't forget to drop them off at the nearest LZ), you can take your time and be patient in eradicating enemies (while picking up prisoners), but remember to rescue stranded people whenever possible.

Back as a kid I remember finally managing to reach the end of the third mission and failing because Sadissa Savak just didn't die. Didn't know about the oil pumping sites but I believe I managed to kill him with normal weapons, he just has an insane amount of health. I think I attacked him with full ammo and full sidewinder load and barely killed him.

You also made things much harder on yourself Dracula Strike. You could have gotten the big green gun a lot sooner. The only real danger is losing it if you die. But in terms of it running out, you are fine if you get it just before you set the laser target in the mines. Comes in really handy against the "Frank" and "Stein" tanks.

+hdust There is no "big green gun" on the map until the first five missions completed. It appears when missions 6-10 unlocked. Also I prefer to take out all bridges thus I actually have no need to deal with "Frank and Stein" tanks at all.

Boy did you do the third campaign the hard way. You let the third wave destroy your ammo and armor by spending too much time on the second wave when you should have at least knocked out the first set on the third to buy some time. (You also should take out ALL the fuel trucks so the waves go much slower.) You also never let the rock slide do a lot of work for you by rolling them down on 3-4 tanks as they tried to get through the mountain pass, nor did you let a bunch get near the oil rigs and then blow it up. You can kill 6-10 tanks without using a single missile or rocket. With the rock slide and the oil rigs, there really is no need to waste time getting Bessus to fight the first wave. But since you did, why didn't you knock out the bridges up there by the scouts? That really slows down their advance, leaving you with plenty of time to take care of the second and third waves. Of course, you can also wait until the tanks are ON the bridges. That will also enable you to kill 4 or so tanks with just guns.
