I agree with both of you, my wife and our two daughters are all in Canada as students. My OWP was refused last year, and I’m no longer eligible to reapply, which we’ve accepted. I told my wife that it’s okay, and we can just wait for her PGWP in 2026. However, the rules changed again on January 14, 2025, when they announced new changes. At the same time, my wife received the results of her biopsy, and unfortunately, she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her treatment will begin soon. I tried to convince her to go back to the Philippines, but she doesn’t want to waste the money and time she’s already invested in her studies. If I could only apply for an OWP, at least I would be able to help take care of my wife and children.

This is so true! We’re waiting for over 7 months for our application and worried that officer may refuse SOWP for no particular reason and I won’t be able to re-apply because of the recent change. 😢

I know your business is based on having immigrants, but I agree with the Minister. If you step back and look at the whole economic situation, there really isn't a shortage of workers. There's a shortage of wages employers are willing to pay because of just the sheer numbers of eligible people in the workforce now. I think a total hard stop on all work visas in order. Only family based visas for the foreseeable future. I would also like to see spousal visas require marriage or civil union, and a cap on those visas too unless there are Canadian children.

If you come on a temporary visa , it is a privilege not a right to be allowed to stay in that host country .When you leave your country and enter another you come at your own risk where rules can change that could affect your stay It is not a god given right to demand you be given what you want from a country that owes you nothing.

Yes but government must be fair , if they dont want immigrants then shut it down and dont advertise around the world to come to Canada

@@fabiog9655correct! Govt should be truthful. Am a canadian citizen but as a human being with compassion to those families that was put in this awful situation, govt gave them false hope. The result of too much politics, to buy vote!

@ as long as government has programs for legal workers to apply for permanent residence and they qualify then yes they can stay 100% but if you dont qualify then you must go home. Canadian citizens need to vote to change their own country for the better government is the enemy here not the people living and working

Can someone please help me, my spousal work permit expires on 31 May 2025 and my husband's PGWP expires 31 November 2025, he's working a general labour job, he's been struggling to get work of his qualifications. Can IRCC allow me to extend my stay as a spouse from May to November 2025 to match with my husband?

Hello! Been enjoying watching your videos during my 2hr commute home. I’m transitioning to PR thru OINP, and I’ve already received my AOR from IRCC. Currently waiting for our biometrics collection. Our visas (me along with my wife and 3 children) are expiring this April 2025, I’m gathering documents for my closed work permit extension and my employer is willing to pay the compliance fee. I have a TEER 0 job and my wife has TEER 4-5 job. Is our profile/situation still valid for extension? At least for my wife and children Thank you
