❤️❤️❤️ When you said “I’ll pay you in chicken” it reminded me that just today my husband came home from working (self employed welder/fabricator & mechanic) and told me he bought a truck by bartering his work hours. In these strange economic times being able to barter is a blessing. ❤️❤️❤️

😅 can tell you grew up in the city. Those of us born and/or raised in the country would be wading into the center of the blackberry patch and not stopping until all the ripe ones were picked. I can remember going out every day with my sisters, each carrying a couple 5 gallon buckets. We'd go to a different patch each day. On great days we picked 7 buckets full on other days 2. After we ate fresh made into cobbler, pie, stewed with dumplings, we froze, canned jam or the berries my parents either gave away or bartered the rest

Father's day is the week which starts strawberry season here in Michigan. We will be getting 26 meat chickens and 15 chick's to replace laying hens. My mighty 15 are giving us anywhere between 5 to 8 eggs daily.

I personally have to wear latex type gloves when picking any type of berries, or else my hands will swell and break out with small blisters. I'm highly allergic to the leaves and other weeds that grow around the bushes. Same goes with most outdoor plants. There's even some grasses that I breakout from. So when doing any yard work I'll be the one wearing gloves. But some how I still end up with dirty hand and dirt under my finger nails!!! LOL... Good seeing y'all picking berries as a family, around here my wife tells me go get whatever she wants and me being a smart man I go get.... LOL.... But there was one time many years back she told me to stop bugging her and to go get lost. Well I failed her I tried and tried for hours even days now even all these years latter I never could find lost to bring it to her... So sad I failed her sad, sad, sad... I still remember when I told her that I couldn't find lost, she got so mad at me the she just sadly shook her head and turned around and walked away form me and never said another word about it... Much love and prayers, you kids all be blessed in Jesus name... BBE...

If you ever cut those black or wild cherry . Get them out of pasture on the spot. If they wilt and cows eat them it can kill them.
