Wow!! You all have done a great job getting all you can out of the small space!! Functional and the aesthetic is just as Lorraine had in mind. I am amazed at everything she can make happen in this kitchen. It’s not easy to preserve in the quantities she does in even the biggest kitchen, but she definitely has the skills. What a beautiful kitchen island Jason. Nicely done. Personally, I love the fragrance of cedar, as well as the color. When I lived in North Carolina we had some dying cedar trees on the edge of the property that we had cut down. We used it for firewood, and it gave off an amazing fragrance. May your kitchen island see many decades of use.

Probably to late to mention this for you. However others might appreciate this thought. On something like this i would definitely include quality locking casters. Makes it so much easier to move out of the way for clearing or when you decide to do things differently in the kitchen or whatever. Years down the road eveytime you move it you will be so happy you did. Have a great day 🌤.

The island is reminding me a lot of Victorian ‘unfitted’ kitchens, they had lots of moving tables and cabinets so they could do all the hard farm work a kitchen does! Love it and I have a very similar one in mine too!
