5 жыл бұрын

Since releasing my Exfoliating Coffee Buff video in July 2018, I have had lots of questions and I promised I would do a remake addressing some of the questions and concerns. I am back to remake the Coffee Buff and this time I am adding in Emulsifying wax to make it a Lotion Bar.
Here is the starting point formula. Remember, have fun with it and make some changes to create a product you want to use and reflects your business if you sell.
52% Hard Butters and Oils (e.g Shea, Cocoa, Mango, Tucuma Capuacu Butters or coconut oil)
4% Emulsifying Wax (depending on wax, you could add up to 8% - just decrease the amount of butters)
5% Stearic acid or Beeswax
31% Exfoliants if choice (e.g Coffee, Apricot Kernel, rosehip seeds, ground rice, sea kelp, tea etc)
Oil soluble Preservative - Follow your guidelines - I used 1% if you use more or less, adjust the Exfoliants or butters
Fragrance or Essential Oil - Follow the usage rates for your choice - I used 5%. If you use less or more, adjust the exfoliants or butters by the same amount.
Optional - I used 2% Green Coffee Extract. If you do not want to use, increase butters or exfoliants by 2%
Thank you for watching

@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 4 жыл бұрын
@@LWLillie1 you need to balance out the butters and oils with ewax so you would need to experiment with increasing both. True... I’ve just recently moved to a different state here in America, took me years to make the perfect mild recipe for my skin and others. 10 years! I’ve finally found a good market to go to and BAM another soap maker.🤭. Definitely not like my soap... so I asked her a few simple questions about her soap. She could not answer ONE question..... 🤬 well shit. Where did she get her recipe from... by far I have to say that you explain things about making your products to a “T”. and that is the way it should be. Yes every soap makers recipe is proprietary.. and you don’t have to give the recipe out, but don’t steal someone else’s and then not really know how to make it. That’s it RANT over... Happy Soaping 💜

@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 5 ай бұрын
The conversion of % in to grams is basic math. You need to know the total amount needed for a batch and then you multiply by it by the percentages. If you google how to convert percentage to number, there are plenty of articles and videos on this and there are even online calculators that do it for you. Once you learn how to do this, you can make any batch size you need.
