I have this on N64 and beaten it on Maniacal. But I never knew a PC version exist. Seems on-par with the PS1 version despite its issues.

Well, if you love the soundtrack and you want an uncompressed, high fidelity version of the soundtrack... You are in luck. I am recomposing the soundtrack with remastered samples, but it is still the same way you remember it. Keep in mind, I couldn't get the arrangement data, so I had to recompose it by ear, so it isn't exactly the same, but it is very very close. Close to the point where the difference isn't even noticeable.

How do you use these different weapons(diagonals, verticais and horizontals)?Are they unlimited?

Killing any alien either with normal or special shot (or a combination of both) will give you a charge of the special shot that corresponds with that specific alien type, get four of the same in a row and you can fire the special shot once using up those four charge, once you have a full charge you cannot acquire any other charge until you've used the special shot. There's also a powerup that will give you a full charge for the current last killed alien type. If you have trouble following the bar right under the score number shows what current charge level I'm at.

I think the reason why Golem was replaced with the giant UFO on GBA was most likely limitations or just not knowing how to get him to work on GBA. It's likely limitations or lack of knowledge is also why time stop was replaced with extra lives.

There's some places where an optimal destruction order get you powerups that make it faster or at-least safer than straight up just mashing the button, there's also a few tricks concerning mothership spawns and slow projectiles at the end of a level A few bosses have quick kills or strategy that makes them much faster / safer too.

This port is terrible. The Playstation version is the best out of all of them (Not counting GBA, because it is actually quite different). It's a shame the Dreamcast port never saw the light of day.

Yeah it's true the PC pot isn't exactly the best for casual play,, there's quite a few graphical issues / missing effects and a few music tracks that are noticeably degraded as well as no reverb on the audio but It has a lot of things that are very convenient for speedrunning like instant load times and no slowdown whatsoever at any point, the N64 version also has a few things that are exclusive to it that make it another option for speedrunning.

In Game Time, aka the timer the game uses which in that case doesn't count loading screens (which don't really exist in the PC version but still) and intermissions screens, as opposed to RTA , meaning Real Time Attack, which simply is an external timer running alongside the game that keeps on running until whatever point you or the community has chosen for that game.
