About Session Starducks:
Session Starducks began as an idea by Captain Duckling(Yoko Kanno), who thought that everyone around the world would feel uplifted if they sang "I want to survive!" (a lyric from one of Captain Duckling's representative songs, "Lion") during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. As the project progressed, it was updated and eventually became a participatory project, such as the following:

Yoko. Thank you for making this possible during the days people where hunkering down due to the pandemic. 御本人から返信を頂き恐縮し、また嬉しい限りです。有難う御座います。 劇中の未来の物語、居住可能に改造された惑星の荒野で独居の天幕を構える長老風キャラ「ブル」が、傍らの子との会話で上記の引用台詞を言う場面、劇中描写は2人を写すのみですが、私の空想で、彼らの身近に太鼓をあのスタイルで奏でる人が居そう、とのイメージで書いた次第。物語のカメラのフレームの少し外で、こんな演奏の光景が在っても違和感が無い、と私は感じ入りました。 Cowboy Bebop13話ジュピタージャズ後編21分30秒の辺りです。それと、章として前後篇にて12話も勧めたい(冒頭に上記場面が畳句的演出で入っているのが味噌)。更に「ブル」が登場する1話、各キャラの因縁が垣間見える5話もお勧めで、結局26話全話をお勧めしそうですw。お時間あれば、幾つかでも見てみて下さい。 最後に長文を失礼しました。

I owe a lot to this song, to that show, for the emotions it allowed me to have back then, having gone through so much, with the inspiration to keep going. As much as I felt I was alone in that experience seeing the comments shows I really wasn’t. And after several years hearing this again is giving me those same emotions which feels so empowering and grounding and it reminds me not to neglect myself to cherish my past as well as my present. This song... The songs of your online session 2020... gave me goosebumps... made me cry. Seeing *The Seatbelts* reunited and performing during the pandemic 20+ years after the anime aired for the first time - also to raise proceeds for COVID-19 relief - is such a beatiful thing... it's beyond words. It makes the world a better place and fills my heart with both happiness and the old familiar sadness of my youth. I am so moved and thankful and all I want to say is: "Thank you!" - from the very bottom of my heart.

Thank you for making such a wonderful and I do mean a wonderful piece of music that made me cry when o heard it the first time in a wonderful tv show, and when I heard it again when I saw the last episode…. When I heard this during the pandemic I cried again because of the fact I was kind of thinking to myself a lot of folks are going to literally…… I feel are gonna carry that weight and I think a lot of us who are still fans of the fantastic tv series that we all watched when we were younger are probably crying a bit and I want you all to know whoever reads this…… you’re always gonna be a bounty Hunter.
