Fun fact, the weird structure in the 4th Colossi's arena is a real thing. It's called a Tumulus, and they're built over graves and burial mounds. Dormin also hints at this by mentioning "rows of guiding graves" when introducing the 4th colossus.

There are several places not on the way to any colossus in particular but just off the beaten path with some beautiful scenery. You can jump off Agro to reach some higher ledges that would otherwise be impossible to reach (try tapping or holding different combinations of buttons while on Agro for interesting results).

@@KnightedSilverWolf #1 I was being deliberately vague because it's nice to not have every bit of discovery in a game be explicitly told to you in a comment section, especially when the whole video is about the joy of discovering the little things in games. #2 Almost every button on the controller (and many combinations of buttons) has a unique action while on Agro, and there are enough advanced techniques that they made an entire achievement out of it in the remaster that many players miss even across multiple playthroughs. I don't really want to get into it here out of respect for Pretzel and leaving some things for him to uncover on his own, but there is a decades-long history of players using techniques with Agro to discover interesting out-of-bounds areas in the game, among other things.

Wander seems to me like he might be a hunter, not of monsters but of rabbits and deer. Those should go down to a single well-aimed arrow, and while his skills with the bow and Agro are the only thing really exceptional about him, they are by leaps and bounds more than other people. I doubt he does a ton of actual running since he would mostly be ambushing his prey and riding his horse to wherever he needs to go.

I'm really glad that you're covering SotC, such a perfect game for your world tour series. Every video I've watched about the game until now has mentioned that the Forbidden Land, while beautiful, wants nothing to do with you. It takes ages to get from one point of interest to another, and the only outright living things are you, the rare white tailed lizards, and the plantlife. Not to mention how much abandoned architecture is around, how the land is littered with enormus structures that have history you'll never know. But contrary to all that, you manage to show the coziness and tranquility of the Forbidden Land, how peaceful and simple it is despite everything. That's what I love about this channel.

Love your videos, man. There really is something magical about games from the PS2 era. Maybe it's just the nostalgia speaking, but I love how many of these games look. The graphics were just advanced enough to have character models that looked human, with 3d faces and hands that weren't cubes with fused fingers. Yet not advanced enough to have that much detail on these faces, and the environments were either incredibly detailed small rooms or big empty areas so the console wouldn't explode (And some stuff in between of course). I wish we would get more games inspired by the aesthetics of PS2 instead of PS1.

The PS3 and PS4 versions of the game reveal ever more detail. I look forward to the second video. My theory about the Colossi is that since they are parts of Dormin, they are controlled by it. Therefore they don't have "life" until they are activated, so they don't actually need room to move. Dormin wants you to destroy them, but is committed to making you believe that it is a challenge to do so.

For the most part, I like showing off how games were originally played at release in this series. While the remake is definitely crisp and technically beautiful, the look doesn't match the original game that people fell in love with all those years ago.
