The audio sync is off again with the video. It looks like it's off by 300-500 milliseconds. You may want to run the video through an editor, detach the audio from video and jog the audio to match the video, rerender and upload it. You may have to do the audio matching in sections. The audio sync seems to get worse later in the video. For some reason, your setup doesn't sync audio to video from the start.

Loved this talk. It made me think that decades ago when I was at school, subjects were very compartmentalised. Perhaps they still are. I was really put off by maths, but really loved art & design. Origami is the perfect marriage between art and maths/geometry, yet no connection was ever made. What a wonderful window and motivation for young folk to get into mathematics! If only I'd known at the time what opportunities this could unlock for an artist. What Liz was saying...art and maths are more closely related than you can imagine. People who design school curriculums should take heed.

I really enjoyed seeing the application of origami and nature to solve the volume and movement problem. I’m excited to see how this might be applied to getting resources to the moon for the Artemis mission. I know that such folds were used in spacesuits to allow mobility. I’d love to see an interview with Amy Ross and other spacesuit engineers.

I'm not sure if this is monitored after it airs, but I am hoping someone checks. I wasn't able to watch the original live stream with my students because it was at 10PM local time. However, one of my students wanted to know, "Instead of folding, why can't we suspend larger volume loads at high altitudes via a balloon or something, and then have the rocket booster simply attach to the load at the high altitude, thus bypassing the fairing restrictions which we assume result from the aerodynamic forces encountered at low and mid altitudes." Basically, if we can pause rockets and control speed and descent ala remote controlled solid rocket boosters (SpaceX) why can't we fly a rocket to altitude, hover it to connect a large load, and then just give that load the final push into orbit?

It's "de la Torre", not "de la Torr". It might not be a big deal but my students need to see AND hear JPL/NASA engineers who they can relate to and the pronunciation of a name can make a difference in engagement.
@bfodera3 жыл бұрын
Do you know for a fact that she pronounces her name "de la Torre"? I understand that "de la Torre" is how the name *should* be pronounced (i.e., how it would be pronounced in Spanish), but a person can choose to pronounce his or her name however he or she likes. For example, my father and his siblings, who emigrated to the U.S., pronounce our last name differently than their relatives in their country of birth.
