This is one of the best videos I've seen on Europa. I had my kids watch it with me for a quick science lesson. I personally will settle for finding "simple" life, but finding an ecosystem would be even better. I hope I live long enough to see the mission that explores under the ice.

A bit of a grammar correction: it's "language barrier", not "language bearer". A bearer is someone who carries something. Such as in the common phrase "i hate to be the bearer of bad news". A "barrier" is a wall or obstacle. Such as in the common phrase "There's a barrier of entry", which means there's some kind of obstacle or condition you have to pass before you can enter something. I hope this helps, english isn't easy and i know the grammar can be tricky.

Nasa said this interviews and social media, but it's possible if you think, the ocean is close to its core, than means there's some heat in the oceans, and heat can be create of radiation too, as our life evolved of space chemical soup that made the first bacteria that evolved later in plants, animals, etc, this could be on Europa too, but we are gonna find out in 2034

Honestly the most interesting part of Aliens likely existing on Europa is there probably WAY bigger than life on Earth. Europa has a much thinner atmosphere and almost the whole Ocean is slightly above or slightly below freezing, which causes gigantism. Just imagine how huge animals would be near the surface where there is almost no water pressure, less gravity making the water weigh about 9x less than it would on Earth, and a colder temperature. Something else interesting is since pretty much no light can ever reach the oceans of Europa let alone its sea floor that means probably every single lifeform on Europa is a carnivore since plant’s absolutely can’t exist in this environment.
@reti7959
@reti7959 Жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that it's plants as we know it can't exist without light. We have no idea of knowing what is out there. There could be plants that feed from something else. There could be a silicone based life form out there. Or something based on some exotic material we've never discovered yet. The possibilities are endless. I thought that it was an abundance of oxygen that caused gigantism... that's why dinosaurs and ancient insects were so big, because back then oxygen was more abundant than it is today.

There are three things I hope to see in my lifetime. 1- A supernova (fingers crossed for Betelgeuse). 2- The excavation of the first emperor of China's tomb. 3- A submersible on Europa that finds an ocean teeming with life. My three wishes are another story because they are impossible. 1- Go back in time and meet a Neanderthal. Also, see how they interacted with humans. 2- Go back in time to see how the Great Pyramid of Giza was constructed. 3- Own a starship, with a FTL drive and a holodeck, a necessity to pass the time between jumps. 😜

@@theonlythingihavetosayis9333 That shocks me. Didn't all the Jurassic Park movies teach us nothing? Inevitably, the Neanderthals would escape, cause havoc and probably eat some people until they're finally contained by Jeff Goldblum. Once again, humanity would learn a valuable lesson the hard way about playing god. That is, until the next sequel, then we're back at square one. No thank you. I would prefer to time travel to meet a Neanderthal. What could go wrong if I time travelled? Oh yea, I forgot. The Time Machine may have had an alarm bell, or two. The Marvel Multiverse is insane! Then there's Star Trek. They break temporal directives all time, not to mention the prime directive on occasion. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the Federation are cloning dinosaurs on the sly. Then, I suppose Back to the Future had the whole Biff timeline drama. Granted, in those 4 examples from the top of my head, time travel isn't painted in a bright light. But that doesn't mean time travel has flaws. Anyway, it's stupid to think a film would reflect life. Well. Apart from when I compared Jurassic Park to life. That just makes total sense.

I'd actually bet that there is life in? Europa. We should be careful, however, that we don't accidentally contract a extraterrestrial disease, which would be the greatest danger. It's very likely that strange bacteria, parasites, etc would be some of the forms of life, life forms that our immune system is most likely inadequate to combat. Like the devastation by the Black Death or of the Native American population after first contact with Europeans, even a small sample of life from Europa not carefully contained could cause a unprecedented epidemic. Or the inverse could be true. We could accidentally cause a chain reaction that destroys the very life forms we seek.
@hardflip8
@hardflip8 Жыл бұрын
That seems very unlikely, as there probably wouldn't be anything resembling mammals on europa or any other planet for that matter. Furthermore, what happened with smallpox was an existing human disease spread to other humans, it's unlikely a completely alien disease would find human biology a suitable place to reproduce.
@brothergrimm9656
@brothergrimm9656 Жыл бұрын
The odds of a microorganism that developed in an alien environment and different biochemistry being able to contaminate any life form on Earth is infinitesimal. Even here on Earth, bacteria and viruses are unable to infect 99.99999% of the other organisms around them. You'd have a better chance of catching feline parvo from your cat than being a compatible host to an alien pathogen.
@myu1419
@myu1419 Жыл бұрын
Unfounded, and made by me, but there could be an unspoken rule where if Alien Bacterias were to encounter Earth's Bacterias, they won't interact with each other because they would be too different, and they won't even know what is happening and our body will consider it as non-threateful and do nothing. Since the Alien Bacterias does not know ours bacterias, it will try to interact in vain, and will die. Some reactions may happen, but they would be more of a benefit for science, and the treatment of our diseases ?

If the plan to get to this water and check it was left to me my recommendation would be to send several drones or whatever to Europa and they are armed with thermal grenades these are the things that burn quickly and burn through solid metal and they could just start dropping these in a circle and just keep digging further and further and further and further down and bring in the next probe with its Fleet of thermal grenades and eventually they would melt through no matter how thick the ice is all of it

IF we would find life on Europa, it would have HUGE implications for the Fermi Paradox? The question 'where is everybody?' would be even more profound, as the possibility of some kind of Great Filter which would wipe out civilizations before they can conquer other star systems.
