Izzy doesn't get enough credit for being the best songwriter in GnR and was a great companion to Slash's playing. The marriage of their guitars worked seamlessly and created the unique sound of the band. He has a great singing voice and a cool vibe to his style, he's definitely more authentic then Axl and probably the most in the band. Hope he's doing well and he should be getting more praise then he does ✌🏽❤

He is truly an amazing songwriter and that is why appetite is so damn good. Guns n' roses should say okay you are our Brian Wilson. You help write songs for the albums and get paid royalties while steering clear of the pressure from touring!

If you listen to Appetite with the balance panned to the left speaker - you’ll hear Izzy’s guitar parts & understand how integral his playing was to the GnR sound. He also played the guitar solo on “Think About You”, and the first half of the solo on “Nightrain.”

If Izzy was the wall and Slash was the paint, Adler was the foundation the whole damn house was built on. Sorum may be a better drummer on paper, but he didn't have Adler's groove, which was a huge part of the Guns sound. Steven was a criminally underrated drummer.

Saw GNR twice with him in the early 90s. After he was gone the band was never the same again. Izzy and Adler, alongside Duff, were the foundation were Axl and Slash could lay their solos and vocals. Izzy with his very precise composition style and sense of rhythm. Adler with his loose, but groovy, way of playing drums. Nobody that came after these two replaced then really well. Note even Matt Sorum (an excelent drummer btw).

GNR let the soul of the band just walk away but they were all going through some shit that clouded all decisions. Slash was high, Duff was high, Axl was dealing with psychological stuff and his own ego. In that way, it would have been impossible for them to say, “hey, let’s keep it together here and figure this out for the future of GNR”. But yeah, I feel like it died with him leaving. Can’t go back now

We saw Izzy do a few songs with GNR prior the Duff and Slashing joining. Izzy didn't join the world tour for the carve up of the revenue wasn't equally balanced. And yes without him they wouldn't have a bunch of cool songs. So az this vid states Izzy was a major foundation of GNR. I also learned things like the type of guitar Izzy used played a part giving GNR their unique sound. Izzy deserves a bit of... but who knows if he wants it...

Izzy didn't do the reunion because they offered him sideman pay. Probably the same as Fortus makes. Which is unacceptable. I can see Axl getting a slightly bigger cut since he's the one that kept GnR going. Like it to not. But the way they divided up the percentages was pretty shitty. Can't remember the numbers but it's Axl, Slash, then Duff in that order. The rest of the members are just considered expenses. But Izzy and Steven can be unreliable. Their choice. Whether it's drugs or just being flaky in Izzy's case. Hard to do real stadium tours if you can't depend on everyone being there and able to play. I'm shocked at how good Axl's behavior is on this tour. Must be someone big on hand to hold him down and inject him with valium if he gets crazy. No other way. It's not like severe mental illness gets better with age. And Axl needs to go back to his heavily bearded biker look from 89-90. Does no one tell him how stupid he looks? He looks like he's a roadie for a nu-country act. Crazy that someone who used to look so cool at one point went to the Illusions tour through now looking like an idiot. Bring back the 1990 Axl. He'd look great with a big beard and his cool t-shirts. Not the doofus stuff he wears now.

He was the only dude in that band I paid attention to. I saw them on MTV when Welcome to the Jungle came out. I told my friends, you have to see this band. They're awful. Little did I know the most awful thing I had ever heard would get more successful. This sucked when it came to bands like King's X. Who I thought each member had 10x the talent of these jokers in this band, but couldn't get a break. This is when i knew the Music Industry was fucked. But Izzy? I thought he was the guy in that band that had actual talent. I still do.
